Is it cheating to use console commands to restore character after save is corrupt

Hi all,

 

I was curious as to what all of you think....

 

I had a level 41 legitimate character that was lost then the save was corrupted. I was 100 in smithing and enchanting and one handed. I had over 100,000 legally.

 

I tried to fix the save by cleaning it but it did no good. Now I am stuck at level 1 again. So here is my question...

 

Is it allowable to use the console commands to " restore" a new character to the way the old character was before the loss of the save or would it be considered cheating?

It's only cheating if you consider it so. Since this is a singleplayer game, no one can tell you what to do or not to do.

Years ago I had a similar problem.

 

I used this mod to regain the perk points. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25607

 

Using a spell book in game is modding not cheating.
