I run on Ultra, always get a perfect 60 FPS, but recently I've had lag spikes every half hour or so of playing that decrease me to 2-5 FPS and last around 5 minutes before going back to normal. I haven't installed any new mods for around 3 days now, and my specs are in my siggy. I've never had this kind of problem before now. What's going on? No matter what your speed the Wirewood Forest is faster." Skyrim is good at bringing any computer to its knees. You might try lowering your graphics settings and removing some mods that increase the load on your computer. If you installed a mod three days ago that is causing severe lag, it is quite possible that the situation remained hidden for three days and is only now manifesting itself. Tair Posted May 17, 2012 Share Posted May 17, 2012 It could definitely be Skyrim—it's no where near PC optimized, and performance varies greatly depending upon what zone you're in. You might want to try reducing your shadows or draw distance just as a test factor. From the way you're describing it, though, it almost sounds like something other than just Skyrim. Can you alt-tab out during the slowdowns and, if so, is your OS performance unaffected? Are you using any post-processing mods like ENB? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
