QuagaarWarrior
What are you trying to achieve? Lots of mods out there.
tomomi1922
Literately tons of options out there. But it is very unwise to download mods you don't want nor understand. For new mods, you first must understand it before you can decide whether it is worth it for you to download. Texture replacer mods are the lowest risk. Mods with heavy scripts are the highest risks. You have to know because you are the one to fix things if things go wrong. For example, Killable children mod makes a lot of sense. It's immersion for me. Children aren't immortal. In fact they are the first to die if a town is overrun by vampires or other monsters. But for the sake of my game's stability, this type of mod needs to go through so many setups to make children mortal (killable). And this is not a population simulation game, so I am perfectly fine with pretending children are vulnerable as long as I don't have to see 3 children holding up an army of 100 skeletons yelling to their parents "Dad, Mom, run away, I will protect you. You know they can't even scratch me anyway" With this reasoning, I opted not to download such a mod. The down side is the high risk of CTD and save corruption. tomomi1922
Also, why do you only download texture replacer for Whiterun only? That mod has a barrage of selections. It would make no sense for you not to use other cities' texture replacer. If you have the taste for better/custom skin for female, you should consider for male too. Otherwise, pairing vanilla male with CBBE female would be a huge contrast, not good. I use Tempered Male skin. While at it, download Total Character Makeover https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/1037A few custom weapons and outfits can't hurt, cape/cloak too. The modular outfits are great, you can mix and match different pieces from different sets to create something to your taste. Download "Simple NPC Outfit Manager" to be able to edit NPC's outfits, for immersion.Followers: try Sofia, Recorder, Inigo, these 3 will grow on you. I know for sure Sofia is "not a follower" in Skyrim engine. So you can have her and another follower at once. If not, get a mod called Amazing Follower Tweaks to better manage followers. However, do not use AFT to control Sofia, Recorder, Inigo. They have their own system. You may use AFT to control Recorder's combat and mount. Bijin's NPC mods: they literately plug and play. 3 mods in total, altering certain groups of NPCs: Warmaidens, Wives, NPCs. Certain named female warriors we can either recruit or play a role in our quests, npc we can marry as wives, and the last are NPCs who don't fit as warriors, but also play important roles in our quests. Don't bother with Vanilla Hair replacer until you are committed to do a lot of work (or see some NPC with black face). I am still exhausted from fixing them. I can go on all day. But I would not want to overwhelm you with complex mods that require a lot of time to setup and a lot know-how when problems arise. Foot note: SkyUI already has an outfit manager. It's very good (good enough for being the only one there is on SSE), but the mod doesn't seem to document it. So don't need to go searching for an outfit manager, you already have it.
