Hi,-so i´m building a Sniper-rifle mod from the specs of my own custom weapon.. and i have a problem figuring out the ranges in-game.. i want to make it as close to real-life as possible but how to do the math? is the range in-game measured in foot, meters or increments of Todd Howards ego? anyone able to tell me how to implement the actual RL range of 2800 Meters to the game will be my Hero of the hour... oh,and i´m also looking for help on making custom ammo. seems 13.8 is nort represented anywhere ;-)

Awesome to hear folks making more custom implements etc.

your shot will be a multi-cell issue, owing to how UGRID and the cell system function.

Offhand jibe at ToddHoward notwithstanding1; check out this thread on long-range shots and units etc.

https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/6228066-shooting-a-quarter-of-the-way-across-the-fallout-4-world-map/

so I think you'll enjoy that thread above,

and some of what JKRuse05's got in the pipeline.

For more on the technical facets,

be sure to check out PoorlyAged, RedRocketTV,

and definitely, Damanding's "Optimization thread", <--- this has to be one of the best resources,

with all kinds of folks sharing a lot of awesome ideas there.

@montky appreciate the shout-out, @isalex the world is horribly distorted and non linear for time : speed : distance calculations.

Whilst the CC site quotes a measurable average 6 feet player height is 128 game units Game.GetPlayer().GetHeight() if that 128:6 ratio is used on some reference items:

The power pylons at Abernathy calculate at twice the height of real world pylons of similar construction.

The commonwealth map at 200,000 game units across calculates only 1.8 real world miles across, clearly nonsense.

If you check my Combat Test Tools comments page GothikaGeist was using the mod to try and calculate range/damage fall-off curves for receivers and omods that may be useful ...
