ArmedKevin117
Basically, I'm trying to make a mod that adds a Khajiit NPC, but the face color isn't changing. I have the basic skin tone just the way I want it, but right at the neck line the color changes back to the default gray and it's driving me nuts. I tried changing the colors of all the different "face parts" and changing the complexion setting around, but nothing. What am I doing wrong? loki876
How to:1. Download TESVSnip2. Open your .esp with tesvsnip3. Save .esp as Master File (esm)4. Open .esm in CK 5. Click on your created Char in "Object Window"6. Press STRG+F4 and click YES7. Uncheck the old .esp in datafiles and mark the esm as active8. have fun It´s the only way to get the Facecolor matching to the body...
Carah
You're not doing anything wrong. This is an infamous bug in the CK when creating NPC's. What you need to do is after you make your changes to the npc's face. the face gen data needs to be updated. All you need to do is Ctrl + F4 while you have the NPC highlighted in the Object window. You'll be asked "Do you want to update selected NPC?" choose yes. This should solve the grey face bug.
ArmedKevin117
Alright, found the option in TESVsnip to make it an esm... but when I try to it gives me the error "plugin has no TES4 record" and refuses to be useful. Help? Edited May 17, 2012 by ArmedKevin117
ArmedKevin117
Alright, issue solved. A tutorial for people who have the same problem: Download TESVsnip. Open your esp file in TESVsnip. Click save, select Master file. Make sure not to click on the esp to copy its name when saving. This will make it save as an esp. Open the esp in CK. Select the character in the Object Window and press ctrl+f4. Answer yes. You should now have an esp and an esm with the same name. In CK's dump folder, you should also have a "meshes" and a "textures" folder. Go into both of those until you come to a folder called Skyrim.esm (both should have it) and rename each after your custom esm. Take the esp, the esm, and the two folders. Put them all in a zip folder by the name of your mod. Now use the NMM to add your custom mod and enjoy your Khajiit with the face you intended.
