Like if you chose assassin you would only be able to use thief skills and some of the spells or if your a straight thief you can only use sneak type spells, or a fighter and have zero access to thief skills or mage skills? You get what I am trying to say right? thief cant use shields warriors can't sneak mages can't pickpocket and such. How hard would it be? How big of a task? That way you could join the warriors guild and learn weapons, and their perks, and armour use, shields, etc. This would remove your spendable experience (not your leveling experience) so that you would need to do that much more adventuring if you wanted to cross class. Perks would only be purchasable from licensed guild members. Also if you join certain factions within the guilds they would offer you less traditional perks - think assassin skills in the thieves guild - but this would exclude you from certain other factions. A Necromancer would be all but shunned from the other schools of magic. A merc warrior would not be able to become a knight. An assassin would not be liked by more noble pick pockets. And so that is how I would do a class system. That's better than my idea. lol But I don't think anyone would want to tackle that at anytime in the near or far future.
