Dr Debug 55 Error Help

Recommended Posts

I just build this computer and can't get it started up and going. It keeps giving a 55 error code which according to the manual says memory not installed. I do have memory installed though...I've tried different combinations to no avail.

In any case this I'm using an Asrock Extreme4 Z77 Mobo and the ram in question is Gskill PC314900 1866Mhz Ram

Yes I did contant AsRock, they told me to contact my dealer which in this case is newegg, I am just trying to get faster results.

do you have different RAM sticks you could try? sounds like DOA memory.

Maybe...I guess I'll just have to send them back in :/ Oh well. I'll try the corsair low profile 8gb ram instead. I was thinking maybe the higher clocked ram does not sit well with mobo from the start?

**EDIT**

AsRock emailed me back telling to me to clear CMOS and check the the cpu socket for pin damage, sure enough theres about 10 pins damaged within the socket.

Sorry Im just now getting back to you. I had struggled to put the the cpu cooler on so during that fight it was possible put pressure on the CPU, that or maybe a factory defect. Regardless...I got my money back and got to keep the mobo and sold it on ebay for 50$ :)
