In the "Travels of Marco Polo" he writes that "It has been an invariable custom, that all the grand khans, and chiefs of the race of Chingis-khan, should be carried for interment to a certain lofty mountain named Altaï, and in whatever place they may happen to die, although it should be at the distance of a hundred days' journey, they are nevertheless conveyed thither." Marco Polo also writes that Chingis-khan died "in the siege of a castle named Thaigin, he was struck by an arrow to the knee, and dying of the wound, was buried in the mountain of Altaï."

Marco Polo. The REAL inventor of memes. lol

But, they still don't know where Genghis Khan is burried right? And his death cause is still unknown right? Then how can we be sure this is true?

Cant just enjoy the coincidence can you?

This arrow to the knee is the only reason Western Europeans are white. The rediculous custom of the entire army going home when the Khan died saved us from invasion. Twice.

Your stretching just a tad with that statement

It wasn't a custom. The top brass went back to elect a new Kahn. The armies stayed put. Obviously didn't invade though without leadership.

Even if they had invaded they had never been tested in Western terrain (You can ask Napoleon how important your surroundings are to war).

If they did manage to drag themselves through the Holy Roman Empire, through a France that was probably as powerful as any time in there history to present. They wouldn't have the manpower remaining or the supply lines to cross the English Channel and stare down Henry iii and Medieval England

Did you know Genghis Khan was buried next to a camel? It was slain in front of its mother so that it would never forget where its child was and the Mongolians used this as a way to find the burial site because no one was allowed to know where it was! (everyone who was there during the burial were killed) - i learnt it on QI yesterday but im not sure if its a meme! :D Edited by GoodfellowGoodspring
