groupoffriends
Everybody, including me and my friends, finds Lydia lovable. What did Bethesda do to make us care? Why is she so different from other NPCs? If we knew what the magic ingredient is, we could put it into our own companion mods. What do you think the ingredients are, for making a companion so special?
asbj0813
I don't really find her interesting(probably because I'm the "lone wolf"-type player), but she has indeed become the spouse of almost every Skyrim gamer  Maybe because she was the easiest, first and best companion to be found, I mean, she is given to you through the main questline, not really that hard to get a hold on. And as time goes by, she just sticks with you.
Dubnoman
I'm playing a stealth based character that quests alone. She'll marry an NPC, but it won't be Lydia. I want to play a warrior character that will quest with a follower most times, and I want her to marry the person she quests with, and I'm thinking of that follower and wife being Lydia (or maybe Mjoll the Lioness). But right now I'm leaning towards Lydia.
mcgreggd
I play a stealthy warrior / hunter, soon to be dragon hunter and I don't like Lydia at all. I'm not that far into the game and I want to get rid of her already. She always gets in my way during combat and while sneaking up on enemies, or she does stupid stuff like running after crabs across rivers that are just not needed to be killed. I think i will leave her to guard my house or maybe knock her off a cliff somewhere.

Sarukei
I can't see myself not having Lydia around. She's saved my bacon more than a few times. She's also moved into my way a few times to take a hit for me(And from me sometimes, but not as often). She's completely brutal against NPCs with the Duel system combat mod installed and with UFO mod you can make sure she stays leveled up with you so she's just as fierce as the lower levels. Perraine
Perhaps It's that whole "Sworn to carry your burdens" thing ... and she's so protective of you when your a low level character "Now they'll pay!", attacking bears and saber cats for you, fending off Bandits "Is that the best they can do?"... jumping in front of incoming arrows and spells to shield you (... err jumping in front of my arrows and spells when I'm trying to kill something ...argh ... FFS! ... LYDIA! NOOOooooo :wallbash: ) I agree, though It's really hard to put your finger on one exact reason, you just end up falling for Lydia ... :psyduck:
