CTD installing new mods

well, i guess it started after the 1.5 update. i had installed the update, and played the game with complete success (love the new kill cams.) then i started to get the "green water" bug. i downloaded the mod for that, then it was gone. a few days went by, and it came back. i uninstalled the mod, and the game wouldn't run anymore. so, i did a clean sweep, totally removing all traces of Skyrim. the i reinstalled it, updated it, and everything was fine. then the green water came back, so i changed the "bDoDepthOfField" to =0; FIXED THE GREEN WATER (though some say their water looks worse than usual after said fix, which isn't the case for me.) then i played the game, turned it off, went to bed, then got up the next day and tried to play it, and CTD. right as i was loading my save.

i tried to start a new game, but still CTD.

reinstalled everything, reactivated all mods, and the game was fine. then last night, i tried to activate "My Kind Of Hair", and the SAME CTD, as i was loading a save. tried a new game, still the same. took out the mod, removing all the files i added, and still CTD. I WENT AND TOOK COPIES OF MY SKYRIM FOLDER CONTENTS WHICH I BACKED UP IN CASE IT HAPPENED AGAIN, OVERWRITING ALL THE CONTENTS OF MY GAME (the game exe. and the entire data folder, along with the .ini files) and now my game works. what i'm afraid of is, every time i add new mods, my game will, for some reason, stop working. that's pretty annoying. it's not the "mod conflict" CTD, i tested that a little while ago, trying to add "Momo Acribatic Jump". i started to think my NMM was the cause, but i can't seem to find any reason this would happen. i hear the 1.5 patch has caused a few issues for people, but nothing like this. if i take my copied files and overwrite them after the crashes, my game works again. i'm totally stumped. i activated my old mods from before the issue, and nothing changed. but anything like"My Kind Of Hair", "Green Water Fix", or "Momo Acrobatic Jump", suddenly causes CTD on loading an existing save or starting a new game. i tried reset Archive Invalidation and reset UI (mostly because i tried everything OTHER than overwriting my files) which didn't work. i don't know what happened to the Data folder or the .ini settings that could cause this, or why an overwrite would fix it. any ideas on WTF is going on here?

Mod issues are caused by specific mods conflicting with each other, over-straining your computer/graphics card or suboptimal load orders. You cannot test "mod conflict" by trying one mod.

My guess is that it is, in fact, a mod issue. Some mods also leave residuals after uninstalling, especially if you do not read and follow the mod author's instructions.

I suggest that you read each mod authors readme for proper installation, download BOSS if you do not already have it, run with each new mod addition and play the game for a bit after each new mod install. If you find a problem occurs after a mod is installed, do not just uninstall without reading the mod authors instructions for removing the mod properly.

I hope this helps.
