Before I do a merged patch, does my load order look okay? Minor issues...

I'm basically just looking for advice on if my load order is okay, and how I should change it up if it isn't. I have a few issues that I'd like to see fixed - namely that one, the Workshop Menu seems really disorganized, for example the crops section only has the type of crops you can make for yourself in Horizon worth 0.5, all the others are in other menus. Secondly, Scrap Everything is letting me scrap roads and other major pieces despite the Horizon patch that's supposed to disable that being active. I can live with both these issues, but I figure if there's anything I can do to make everything play nice, I should.

Thanks very much for any help, it's much appreciated!

Did you use LOOT? You always should.

Apart from LOOT: What do you want to merge? And why? Didn't count your plugins, but it seems your far away from the 255 plugins limit. I don't see many of the "obvious" candidates for merging in your load order: Weapons, armor/clothes, "small tweaks"...

TBH, with your load order, I wouldn't recommend merging anything. Using "merge plugins" for Fallout 4 is a somewhat finicky thing. Be prepared for some "trial and error" and also some unexpected results. But why take that trouble anyway? I'd say the only reason to use merges is staying below the magic 255. And that's not an issue here.

You can (and IMHO should) create either a "bashed patch" with Wrye Bash or (the more "complete" solution) a "smashed patch" with "mator Smash" (Found on the Skyrim Nexus). Apart from that, I wouldn't do anything.

Really? I've heard a lot of bad things about Loot, even that it should never be relied on for the load order, so I haven't been using it out of worry. Maybe it's gotten better?

I wouldn't rely blindly on LOOT. It prevents you from "obvious mistakes" (patches before the file they're supposed to patch and things like that) and gives a good starting point. You might still want to tweak the result of LOOT a bit - either by moving files around manually or (preferably) defining rules for LOOT. OFC, there are things LOOT simply "can't know" - e.g. my combination of companion and body replacers... So you have to get things like this straight yourself.

TBH, I got a really large load order. I defined some rules for plugins, where I got a clear preference where I want them to go, LOOT handles the rest. Works really well...

I'd recommend giving LOOt a try. Take it as a "second opinion", if you like. For example, I'm not sure about your placement of "scrap everything". I always placed it last in my load order (as LOOT does) and didn't have any issues with that. So I'd be curious to see if LOOT changes your load order or not. ^^

Thanks for the advice - LOOT helped! :D The only issue left I'm having is with Horizon and Scrap Everything - I think LOOT wanted Scrap Everything more in the middle - which is a problem since I need the Horizon patches to work with it and limit what I can scrap! I've asked on the forums of both mods for some help with that, but I think otherwise according to LOOT and what seems to work ingame, everything else is good. Thanks very much for the help!
