Vortex download folder empty after downloading from Nexus Mods site?

I think BeowulfSchmidt was replying to my statement that the behavior would change in the future.

 

The way it's going to change is that vortex will have one download location for all games so you don't have to configure it for each game and most of all, you can't get into the situation where you download a file for a game that you haven't configured yet and it ends up in the default directory on C: when you may not even have the space.

And then we allow you to configure files to show up for multiple games, so you can mark your SkyrimSE downloads (or some of them) to also show in SkyrimVR as if they had been downloaded for that game.
