Georgiegril
You can check your background processes by pulling up the task manager (prob ctrl-alt-del) and looking at applications and running processes. Things like adobe updater can be running without your having opened them on purpose. Also, many anti-virus programs have a game mode, which will cause it to safely shut down any non-essential functions (like updating definitions and running scheduled scans) during your game. Have you done that? What you are describing sounds to me like a CPU issue, that your computer RAM is either overloaded or bottlenecked. So the first thing to do is to make sure your RAM is not being used by other processes. Since you didn't have this trouble until just recently, and have been able to play without trouble before, it seems unlikely to me that it would be a basic configuration or hardware issue, unless you have changed something there. That leaves other applications taking up your RAM or a mod issue. Please double check the above and list your mods, and lets see if we can figure it out.
