Porting meshes from Vanilla

Recommended Posts

So I'm using Nif Optimizer

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/4089

Tried a renthal mesh, didn't work.

Tried a fusa fusa mesh, didn't work.

Tried another mesh, didn't work.

What am I probably doing wrong? Please hit me up with a good tutorial.

Thanks guys

Not really sure what to tell you - I've converted 100s upon 100s of meshes just by running Nifoptimizer on the folder they're in, and I've never had any issues. There's no really any tutorial one can give really... you just run the program in the right folder. If that's not working it could be a problem in the mesh itself versus something you're doing wrong.

I have read of the rare exceptions where it fails to optimize some .nifs - but I find it odd you'd somehow stumble onto 3 of these. Do you mind packing up the .nifs in question in an .rar, uploading them and letting me check them out?

Well Renthal is a modder and his mods are already converted to SSE.

Fusa Fusa is related to mods as well - from what I found looking it up it was a modder who made special "shell textures" that increased fur density on animals. Their mods are also converted afaik. Though it's possible either author still has some not ported, not sure.

However OP seems to have not read permissions, which I only just looked at myself - this is for both Oldrim and SE

Conversion permissionYou are not allowed to convert this file to work on other games under any circumstances
