If you can please help me with this. When I atempt to use Games for Windows Live Disabler I get Cannot find your FALLOUT.INI! This usually means you haven't run Fallout 3 yet. please do so now before running Games for Windows LIVE Disabler again.

I can't turn on fallout.exe or I get this: The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). I can't replace what I assume is a corrupt file because I don't have permission.

I changed it so I do have permission, and it says I still can't replace the file. I am STUCK, what do I do now? I can't find any info on the web, most people either fix it by now or give up, and I'm stuck!

I tried downloading GFWL, and I got Troubleshoot You are missing a important application for windows. (not exact quote), and thus I am stuck there.

Bottom line is, Fallout 3 isn't working and I've gone trough so many searches, so many "supposed fixes" and such much other junk but it's like a never ending loop. Fix one thing, got another bug, fix that got another... I need serious assistance, because I've tried everything I can find.

 

I just want to return to the Capital Wasteland, is that so wrong?

What version of Fallout 3 do you have and in what directory did you install it?

Fallout 3 GOTY, C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 3 goty

I don't know the exact version but I assume it's the most up to date one considering I downloaded it from Steam.

I got it to work after deleting all of my Windows Redistributables and re-installing the ones I need when prompted to. This forum page can be deleted now I suppose.
