sjohnson89
after playing fo4 again i'm 100% sure that nv miniguns need tweaking. in every other minigun barrels rotate very fast and it gives the user a sense of realism while using heavy firepower. but its too slow in our game! feels like a joke to be honest i tried animation multiplier in geck but it didnt work. are there any alternatives? EPDGaffney
Could look at the NIF itself. NifSkope is very confusing to me, but sometimes I can glean stuff from what's there. Someone else may have more experience with this, but in the meantime you can google how to modify animations in NifSkope (particularly for Fallout 3 or NV if you can find that). sjohnson89
i tried to have a look at the animations in the past but whenever i try to import animations to blender something goes wrong...i might give it another try though
Mktavish
I thought blender was for textures ? And Nifskope is for animations ?
sjohnson89
i dont know man i acted based on what info i had, but i remember importing skeletons to blender and previewing the animations, albeit it was messy
EPDGaffney
I believe NifSkope can do what you want but I don't know how. Blender can definitely do it but I'd be really out of my element with all the technical stuff there (importing and exporting). But Blender can do almost anything when it comes to 3D models, especially newer versions (which don't work for Gamebryo unfortunately but wow, what a good piece of software). Mktavish
OIC ... was I thinking of GIMP , that is just for textures ?But pardon my ignorance because I am in fact willfully ignorant about it.
EPDGaffney
GIMP is just for textures, yeah. Blender doesn't do textures per se, though you can manipulate the way your model interacts with them with an impressive degree of freedom.
sjohnson89
epd i was doing some testing today and i remembered shoulder mounted machine gun had rotating barrels despite having a launcher animation. do you think we can make something out of it? EPDGaffney
I've never done any animating, but theoretically, you should be able to do something with it. What that is will depend heavily on what's in that animation and the rig it uses. It's possible that all you'd need to do is to rename some bones, but I wouldn't know for sure. There could be retargeting scripts about as well if you're using Blender. But I'd expect the easiest thing to be simply increasing the speed of the default animation in either Blender or NifSkope.
