MexicanJesus56
I recently installed Looksmenu and have been unable to use it at all. Whenever it use the 'slm' command I'm met with the vanilla character customization screen, and nothing from LM appears as it should. I've tried using NMM and installing it manually. I've ensured that F4SE is up to date, as well as my game and the mod, no issues there. I've tried launching it from NMM, f4se_loader.exe (as admin, of course), and from steam to no avail. I've tried toying with the load order a bit to no results, but I don't really have any idea where to start with that so there's probably more to be done there. I've also tried disabling the mod, running the game without it, then enabling it again and running the game. No luck. All of my other mods seem to be working perfectly fine, except for Lots More Female Hairstyles, which also isn't giving me any other options in game. I've tried just about every fix I've seen for this problem and STILL haven't gotten this stupid mod to work, and I'm beginning to question whether or not just dealing with the vanilla character creation (the horror!) would be more/less hassle than troubleshooting this... Any tips?
Deleted3082751User
first of all try placing looksmenu.esp, at the very bottom of the load order, this will grant it maximum priority. and will also determine if it is a mod conflict or not. should the above fail, try starting a new game as well (with looksmenu still placed at the very bottom of your load order), to see if it works on a new game, simply click on new game, but dont save. looksmenu can be funny with load order, as i have also had issue with it in the past and had to mess with the load order to get it to work, also i believe a custom npc mod, actually made looksmenu stop working (i dont know how or why, but it did, i dont remember what mod it was though). should bare in mind that this bit could refer to looksmenu customization compendium, as i have only ever had an issue with looksmenu once. i have always run both together though Edited July 16, 2018 by Guest
MexicanJesus56
Thanks for the response! I tried both putting LM at the bottom of the load order AND starting a new game and trying it. Still nothing. I don't have any custom NPC mods, so that isn't the issue. I've also tried running it with and without compendium to no results. :/
Algabar
Are you sure F4SE is actually running? It will only start correctly, if Steam is already running. This means, you will either1. have to start Steam before starting Fallout 4 with the f4se_loader.exeor2. Start the game "twice": The first time to start Steam, in the game launcher choose "exit", then start again. Some people also seem to have trouble starting f4se_loader.exe from NMM. Maybe create a desktop shortcut for f4se_loader.exe and try, if this works.
MexicanJesus56
I tried both starting steam before opening the game and starting it twice. Nothing. I've also tried running f4se_loader.exe from NMM and from file with no difference.
Deleted3082751User
try disabling all mods (Esp and Esm), with only looksmenu and base game enabled. (again on a new game, so all other mods are not loaded on a save) is looksmenu the only f4se Plugin that is not working, so basically does any other F4se Plugin work, if looks menu is the only f4se plugin you have, can you download any other f4se plugin (and confirm that F4SE Plugins do work, which would confirm that F4Se is working), just to make sure that it is a mod problem and not f4se itself. MexicanJesus56
I tried using disabling everything. No dice. I also tried using Better Console which also didn't work, so that's a pretty good indicator that the problem lies with F4SE. I'm currently looking into the issue. I've tried updating my F4SE version to match the current version of the game; still nothing.
