Fegeer
Hi! Iâm looking for an alternative to the War of the Commonwealth to increase the number of NPCs. War already killed two of my playthroghs - whenever I get to the city center, the game starts to crash within 10-30 minutes. Sometimes even destroying the saves within a single cell. The war definitely causes this, as the game runs perfectly smooth without this mod. Still I really cannot play the game without the increased NPC spawns - gameplay feels lifeless and boring. =( Please advise alternative bug-free mods increasing npc spawns. Thank you in advance! SKKmods
With SKK Combat Stalkers the spawn follows you, so there is only ever one group of them for a low overhead zeroCTD guarantee.

Just looked at your files - a lot of interesting mods. Thank you very much! What about other spawn mods like More Attackers - Get Off My Buildzone, NPCs Travel, Crazy Safari, More Enemies? Would they CTD with each other and your mod?
jones177
I use Endless Warfare. If it wasn't for Endless Warfare I probably would not be playing Fallout 4 at all. The positives. With it I can control the amount of NPCs in a Vanilla spawn. I usually start with 3X vanilla. You can change the balance by adding to individual groups like the Gunners or Minutemen. You can go crazy with bugs. I like to see swarms of bugs.It makes building elaborate defences worth while. It makes servivaul mode epic. The negatives. The companion part is useless. They will attack your settlers. You can easily make your game a CTD mess with settings that your hardware can't handle.Spawning too many NPCs can cause save bloat & can trash your save. This has only happened once to me. Bloat got as high as 115mbs. The saves does a slight pause every 30 to 45 seconds. Large spawns create lots of CPU heat. An overclocking cooling solution is required. The game needs to be on a SSD or it will be a stuttering mess with the large NPC load-ins.You need to use a i7 6700k or better. With less your save will become unplayable with pauses & stutter as it gets older. This game running this mod is the reason I replaced my i7 6700k with a i7 8700k. I did not need it for anything else. It was worth it. Later
SKKmods
@fegeer folks have posted on the CS mod thread they are getting good results mixing it up with Endless Warfare, More Attackers, NPCS Travel, More Enemies and such. Have a careful read of the "protect innocent npcs" section as it relates to spawn multiplying mods if you care about base game settlements. Fegeer
Thank you very much! I will check out those mods. Hope this time my game would be stable. =) BTW. Did you use faction overhauls (raiders, mutant. etc.)? Are they compatible with mods mentioned above?
Vanguardascendant
I'd like to echo earlier comments about the SKK's Combat Stalkers mod. I enjoy the mod. It's very customizable and definitely adds an element of unpredictability to the Commonwealth. Though if you're looking for more NPCs of all types (not just hostiles), you'll probably need an additional mod on top of that. The OP didn't state which types of NPCs the poster was looking for. The goal was to increase the number of NPC in the Commonwealth to make it more vivid. NPC from DLC is a much welcome addition to this!Currently looking into DLC Monster Invasion and DLC Leveled List Integration and Rebalance. Did anyone try faction overhauls (raider, super mutant, synth)? Do they work fine with the above mods that increase spawns?
sopmac45
A new mod will be out soon : Spawns of the Commonwealth ... which will replace ( practically ), War of the Commonwealth ( WOTC ). So far I am using WOTC and I am very happy with it. I did set it up to Loose Cannon ( in the menu ) which spawn a lot of enemies and does not conflict at all with the factions you choose. I also pair this mod with Faster Respawn mod which I have it to respawn every hour so I am in constant combat fighting a lot of groups ( sometimes up to 30 - 40 ). I have not used any other mod like those mentioned above so I cannot advise on any except WOTC. My game is stable and once in a while, I get a CTD ( perhaps every 10 - 12 hours game play. Not bad !
