Big Trouble With Latest NMM Update

So I gave the latest NMM update a few days before I updated in case there were any glitches that may show up, etc....finally updated today, since then upon entering the game I am getting CTD's every couple of minutes and my protagonists face is dis-colored....What's going on? Does someone know please?...Desperate for help, I don't know what to do.

It seems to me that the NMM update was incidental to your problem and that it is an NPC related mod issue.

What are your mods? Load order? Any changes around the same time as the NMM update? Have you run BOSS to make sure your order is optimal?

I haven't added or deleted any mods for about a week....I know there is a mod that causes my game to CTD about every 4-5 hours, have narrowed that down to one of two mods installed on the same day, but 4-5 hours apart I can live with....How do I manually run the BOSS?...I thought it did that automatically....I really appreciate your having a look Georgiegril...Thank you.

No, it is kinda confusing, that is what I thought, too. But you can download BOSS by going to the mods pages and just entering BOSS as a search, like you would with any other mod. Make sure to read and follow the installation instructions. Download it to your desktop and then you can open and run it to list your mods, order your mods and import to Skyrim, etc. It is very easy to use. Then just hand order the mods BOSS says it doesn't recognize by placing like mods together (Abodes with other player houses, NPC mods with other NPCs, etc. It will work on both Steam and NMM mods. It will not work with some texture mods (probably the ones that you don't see on your plug-in page, unless some of those are also steam mods.

 

I appreciate that NMM doesn't make use of some kind of BOSS auto-run, because then all the mods BOSS doesn't recognize would move to the bottom and require hand ordering every time you played.

 

I can tell just by a quick look that your mod load order is quite different from what BOSS will suggest, so that may really help you, even with the CTD you are willing to live with!

Thank you Georgiegril, I have downloaded the BOSS and followed instructions...the plug-in list has changed in order, the change in some has surprised me....Nine plug-ins were unrecognized, family duties are keeping me too busy to take a further look into which ones at the moment, testing the game has to wait also....grumble, grumble... :dry: .... :happy: ....Will see what happens when the kids find something more interesting to do rather than trail my every move.... :happy: ...Thank you again.
