rv238
how do you completely remove skyrim through the steam interface? Does it involve anything other than removing local files
Georgiegril
Steam link This explains it.If you want to remove everything, though, be sure to go back to the folders location and delete everything that says skyrim.
rv238
If I do this will I still be able to re install my games meaning I don't have to buy them again.
Georgiegril
No, you can just reinstall. Steam knows you have the game. But it is a pain---did you try to remove all your mods first? Also if you list what your mods are, I or someone else might notice a known issue with a particular mod, and that might help you avoid the whole uninstall thing. rv238
I have tried hundreds of mods over time but skyrim hasn't been working for a couple months so I couldn't tell you which ones I was using at the time.
bben46
If any of your mods require SKSE and you are trying to start with the standard steam launcher - It Will crash. You MUST start the game withe the SKSE launcher. Another cause of that crash is a missing master (esm) file - if you have a mod that uses both an esp and esm, and the esp is being loaded - but not the esm. zorgoth
Hi, I'm having pretty much the same issues as this poor fella. The weird part being that the launcher crashes when auto-detecting video settings. It only started today. I've attempted everything in this thread besides a complete reinstall (I really really REALLY don't want to, my connection is horrible and I don't own a disc) and have deactivated every mod I have through NMM. I'll be honest, I had a lot! I think I'm going to try uninstalling NMM next, but I'd like some advice if you have anymore to give. I had Wrye bash installed beforehand, but took it out just to see. I've tried launching through NMM and the launcher, then directly with SKSE. I've reinstalled SKSE. I've even taken out the INIs in my documents folder to generate completely new ones, and no luck. I still have absolutely no idea what could be causing this... Unless steam's been messing around with Skyrim when I wasn't looking. Any help is greatly appreciated! bben46
Is it possible you are using a video card that Skyrim can't detect? Here is some more troubleshooting advice that may help. Here is a link to my mods troubleshooting blog on my own site. http://s1.zetaboards...?x=0#post631601 Currently still under construction - any suggestions will be appreciated.
