Skyrim Lags

I just bought Skyrim yesterday and downloaded the game to play. When I went to play though I found out it lags quite bad to were all movements from other characters and myself are very jerky and slow. The characters talking even can get ahead of their movements. It isn't by too much but it is to were it is still noticeable. I looked at the requirements for the game and my memory free on my computer is 565 GB and my RAM is 8.00 GB. My graphics card is a ATI Radeon HD 4200 which I have heard it is not the best graphics card for gaming. I also have the husnet satellite internet which my and 2 other computers are connected to wirelessly. The internet isn't the best and actually it is pretty much slow all the time but for where we live it is all we can get right now. What I want to know is if it is my graphics card that is causing my lagging or if it could possible be something else whether that be the game, something in my computer or the internet I have.

I am not familiar with Radeon drivers, but from what I can tell looking at their specs online it states it has 124-bit shaders, and that would be too low for Skyrim.

Skyrim also utilizes around 2GB Memory, or more, so your free memory would also cause a problem, but that maybe could be helped.

You don't mention your processor, but you would need at least a dual core.

Basically, if you play Skyrim, you need to turn your graphics settings so low that the game looks ugly and not at all like the advertisement looked, or else you need to buy the most powerful computer and best graphics card that you can.

You don't need an Internet connection to play Skyrim. You only need it to install or update the game. So a slow Internet connection will not hurt your game performance.

For my processor it says I have a AMD Phenom II X4 810 Processor 2.60 GHz. As for my total of RAM space I have free left it is 7.74. Also I am not very tech savvy at all. I can only recall some names of things in the computer because of how long I owned a computer but as for how things work on the computer or what they do I don't understand at all. What exactly is the specs part of the Radeon drivers? What would you recommend I get?

Drivers are software btw, and your available RAM is not causing this problem. Also, Skyrim is pretty easy to put on ultra. My medium grade rig can do it pretty easily. The AMD 4200 is a pretty bad card however, and it's almost certainly causing most of the lag. Your cpu isn't very good either, but it's still your 4200 that's the weakest point.

Internet speed will not affect Skyrim at all, so don't worry about that. Your RAM is also fine for gaming.

No offense to David Brasher, but that's a heavily exaggerated claim of Skyrim's resource consumption. It's not well optimized, but it's by no means a difficult game to run. You don't need a super high-end graphics card to put Skyrim on ultra, not even close.
