All looks fine to me, FONV is not the most stable of games, so if its not too annoying just quicksave before fast travel all the time, Maybe disable autosave, lots of people complain about autosave screwing things up. (I never load autosaves anyway, not sure why I left it on)

One thing you can try:

Load your save, then kill yourself somehow. player.kill in the console will do the trick.

Let the game re-load, then save your game to a new file.

As Cyberlazy stated above, never leave the autosaves enabled. If you don't want to manually save every time, get CASM.

All versions of the game are Steam versions, and GOTY is the exact same files as the base game and all the DLC.

might be worth refreshing your .ini's i think the console command is " refresh ini " i think FO3 and FNV behave slight differently with regards to .ini's due to steam poking its nose in each time you launch the game the two .ini's in your docs folder are refreshed from the one in fnv's root folder (FNV Default) and fo3 doesnt unless its a steam copy too changing fnv's two ini's in the docs folder on their properties tab to read only stops this . make sure all three in the picture below are always off and save the game yourself, usually every 20 minutes

I already have the auto-saves turned off. I'll try killing myself (ha!)

I'll try this, thanks.
