LOD problem

Hi, I have been messing around with lod, And I just can't seem to get the terrain to look any better.

As in, the base ground itself, after about 100' or so becomes a really low res texture and I can't find any settings whatsoever to push the distance out further. Once I get within about 50' the next area 'loads' and then I can walk further away and it stays clear for awhile.. But the bluryness just looks awful.

Are you trying to generate LOD for a mod your working on? Or, are you talking about draw distance in vanilla? If your Doing LOD for a mod I can probably help, I've done a lot of work with LOD and, have a good understanding on how to pull it off. Post some screens of your issues and, I'll take a look.

go to tweak guides.com the guide for fallout3 is usable on fnv due to having the same engine also LOD is sometimes referred to as "draw distance" might be worth checking out the nexus uploads for .ini tweaks or anything with draw distance in its title ,

thats all im giving you as this topic a real can of worms .

Yea I tried changing basicly every pram in FONV's ini's and couldn't get the LOD ground textures to move any further away.

Did manage to get FONV to load a extra gig of data once. heh. And another time it show LOD'ed trees like a mile away.

being an old hand you'll know that it takes some carefull work but having said that you may well be another victim of the "terrain bug" i got that tee-shirt a while back the cause and cure still unknown ripping out its guts worked for me making me suspect its some way related to the O/S how exactly i have no idea maybe 32/64 bit have you got access to a 32bit copy of XP ? vista being 7's daddy may create same issue all you need is a spare hd and the disc could be worth a shot !
