stebbinsd
When I launch Oblivion, I can hear the title screen coming up, but i can only see the desktop. This happens regardless of whether I use the Oblivion Launcher, the OBSE Launcher, or OBMM to launch the game. If I press the Esc key, I can hear the music switch to the main Oblivion theme, so the game absolutely is responding to my input ... except that it's blind. The Oblivion logo appears on the taskbar at the bottom of the desktop. However, right-clicking on it and selecting "close" doesn't cause the music to stop. The only way to make the music stop is to go into the task manager and select "end process." Going into the task manager, clicking on the "applications" tab, finding the Oblivion game, and bringing it to front doesn't fix the problem. Any ideas? stebbinsd
Nevermind. I figured it out. All I had to do was go into my "My Documents/My Games/Oblivion" folder, move the "saves" folder to somewhere else, delete the "Oblivion" folder, and then pull up the game again. One of the configuration files was wonky, so by deleting that config file, the game automatically created a new one with default settings. From there, simply return the saves folder to its rightful place and BOOM, and I'm back to playing. I've recorded next week's episodes for my channel now. But hey, thanks for trying.
