"GREETING" Topic

Guys, I think I've just completely crapped all over my mod!

While adding dialogue for my companion mod I've been working on, I accidentally edited the GREETING topic when I placed it in my dialogue quest's topic. :wallbash:

I'd only realised that it then affected EVERYONE in the world when it was too late! :'(

Please Please Please tell me there's a way to fix this! I'd hate to start all over again! :ohdear:

I searched the forums for this, but couldn't find it.

Help is really appreciated! :ohdear:

You may want to remove and redo the GREETING topic. Make a backup copy of your mod first. Open your mod in FNV Plugin, go to the Dialog Topics group and find the GREETING topic. Select it, click the Toggle Ignore button and then save your mod. GREETING should now be removed from your mod and go back to using the original version.

You can probably do the same thing with FNVEdit, but I find for this usage case FNV Plugin is easier.

It's ok if you did add Greeting to your quest, since the game stacks all vanilla topics from alls mods at run time. 100 mods can use GREETING. The thing you don't want to do is change it's priority or anything else. If you look at it in FNVEdit, the only part that should be changed is the list of quests that use it (your plugin adds yours). Everything else should be green (same as master) with the main FNV esm. if any other field is not green, just drag the fields that aren't with your mouse to your mod. exit and save.

That's excatly what I did, I accidentally edited the topic from the default, hardcoded, invisible-in game"GREETING" to something else, so now it appeared with everysingle NPC in the game, when I only intended something else for my one companion :wallbash: . But it's fixed now, so I guess this topic's been busted!

It's the first time of me venturing out into making a companion, so I hit a schoolboy errors like this lol! xD
