Is there an existing mod that retextures the sole survivor / player?

I was just wondering if this existed because I find the texture quality difference between my hand and the gun to be pretty distracting. (having a 256x256 hand on WRP retextures)

you mean if there are body mods with new textures? if so , there are plenty of them

more for female characters , but there are some for males as well . it's not just for the player character , it's for all male or female characters

just look under the models and textures category , or do a quick search for male or female (depending on which gender you are looking for , though you should get one for each really)

I have body replacers for both males and females. I think vanilla bodies are set up the same way, but it has been a very, very, very, very long time since I have looked at the vanilla bodies so not sure.

 

Anyway, if all you want is a higher resolution texture on the hand, there are two textures, one for 1st person and one that is just labeled as the hand texture. One of those (at least in the replaced bodies) is much higher in resolution than the other, so all you need to do is copy the higher resolution file to the name of the lower resolution file. Then both versions (1st person and not 1st person) would be the same higher resolution.

 

It works the same for body replacers, though the textures and their names may not match the vanilla versions, depending on what body replacer you are using.

 

There is also a mod that allows you to have a custom body/texture replacer for only the player, so that you can use a different or a custom body/texture combo that will affect only the player. I forget the name of the mod since I create my own custom races for this sort of thing, but I know a mod for this used to exist for FNV.
