nuska
Huh, I seem to be getting this beta ready, like, ten times sooner than I had anticipated. Anyone interested in testing this please shoot me a PM - you'll get to provide valuable feedback and affect the final release mod! I'll particularly need cosmetic feedback on the customisation options, body mod compatibility and colour choices.
nuska
This neck seam is driving me nuts and I'm starting to suspect it's inevitable. I've double checked the textures match, but bringing it ingame, whatever I do, the seam and the contrast is there. I'm starting to think it's caused more by the difference in angle towards lighting, since I didn't find the culprit in any texture maps. Ideas/solutions/experiences? http://i.imgur.com/AP9bx.jpg I also guffawed when I realised I could make a calico cat. I didn't even plan for one. Nuts. AurianaValoria1
You know, it might pay off to look at something like Caliente's texture blender or something similar. That's used to get rid of neck seams between head textures and those for CBBE. Perhaps something similar would work with yours?
nuska
Guys I am RIDICULOUSLY excited about this now. I made a custom headmorph. That means far greater compatibility with most hairstyles and no stray ears sticking out at the sides 8D I also made the face super cute. Will proceed to morph for the males too and make noses, lots of catlike noses. Also preparing new normal maps and fur textures to fit these changes. EDIT: male morphs added, these are turning out hoooot. http://i.imgur.com/hFCMt.jpg Edited May 30, 2012 by nuska
Galacticat42
:woot: Those look REALLY good, but how are the neck seams coming along? If I were you I'd look at how Bethsoft got rid of the neck seams for kajiits and try to get the texture differences to a closer state to those instead of trying to make them identical on your texturing program. nuska
Beth handled the neck seam by having a longer head mesh for Khajiits with an alpha mapped 'ruff' part layering over the neck. Not really feasible to do without *heavy* editing to the head mesh :( Though I wonder if it were feasible with the morphs.. I'll give it a shot. E: Tried it, but morphing the neck only made it default to the 'base' mesh in chargen. Back to the drawing board. nuska
http://i.imgur.com/vKG9u.jpg New normals, iterated head textures, gradually getting rid of the neck seam. Human ears are gone for good though the new morph still needs some tweaking to get rid of the blocky chin. Those who have volunteered to test this will get a new version in a few days. :) I'm trying to figure out a way to get the ears to be part of the same tintmap as the body and head. Currently the ears are a HeadPart accessory attached to the head and don't react to tone changes at all. Any suggestions? I already love what you have done and now I can't wait to test your new work. The noses look amazing too!
FranzLiszt
Oh my goodness! This is fantastic stuff. It kind of reminds me of people in Catshttp://www.deviantart.com/download/61635815/Munkustrap_II_by_Cats_Musical.jpg Edited May 31, 2012 by FranzLiszt
Galacticat42
To add the ears into the tintmap? Well, you can either add the ears directly on to the head mesh and make it one big texture, or you could take a look at the old texture hack mod Eyebrows match hair.
