Georgiegril
Hi, I have noticed that more mods are coming out as .esm files. What is the risk (if any) of running multiple .esm files, and is there a point at which there are too many, because of huge savegame files size, increased mod conflicts, load time, etc? I read the description of esm and esp files on the creation kit website, and the load order and you pinned thread. I understand the basic of each, and why some authors would choose to make an esm vs an esp.
David Brasher
As far as I know, the game does not care how many .esm files you have in relation to how many .esp files you have. I have heard of no problems resulting from a person having too many .esm files in their load order. Skyrim has a major defect which makes it so more mods will have to include or consist of an .esm than you may have been used to seeing in Oblivion.
