Help - Modifying a Mod...

o/ all,

I looking to alter a companion from the mod Beautiful Characters and Companions - Karrel. I want him to use Light Armour instead of Heavy Armour.

I go into the CK, set the BC&C plugin as active, find Karrel under actors, go into Stats, and change his class to CombatBarbarian (as that has two handed and light armour as best weighting). I then save and exit.

Using NMM i uninstall then reinstall BC&C but when i got into game and as what hes good at (using UFO) he stats havent changed - even asking him to train keeps them the same.

Am i missing anything obvious out? I tried to load the BC&C master file instead, but couldnt find an data on Karrel in it?

Any help would be great, thanks

Kal

I'm only guessing with my experience from editting Fallout New Vegas mods

It seems like the steps should be:

Check Skyrim

Check BC&C

Change Make your changes

Save as a new esp

And in your load order make sure the new esp is loaded last with BC&C still active.

If BC&C is an esp and you saved your changes to that it should work. But if you uninstall it and reinstall it, all you're doing is deleting the modified file and replacing it with the original. I don't have the mod so I'm not sure. Let me know if I'm way off as I might be misreading your post.

No, your right - i realised the uninstall/reinstall reset the mod files as i went back into them to double check things and found it reset....

Could it be that BC&C has both an .esp and a .esm? is that making it more complex?

My only other thought is that as I have already leveld the companion using the UFO command, that it cant change his skills now?

OK, found the solution

Once i got a level and used UFO to level up the companion, his skills then changed to the modified class

So, all good :)

Cool glad you got it working
