Is there a way to stop NMM from changing load order when opening?

even better, why not have it check if BOSS is installed and use it's load order settings instead (this is not directed at you, but the NMM developers)or let us choose where do we want the mods in the load order...and save it?

I'm confused...I use Boss to order my mods and NMM/SKSE to load. I have never had to change the load order just because I am using NMM--for example, I set WATER hand placed last, and it stays there. Is my situation unique? I do use the launch SKSE button, is that a contributing factor?

I don't have this problem either and I launch SKSE from a shortcut on my desktop. NMM has never changed my load order unless I asked it to.

Nvm. somehow missed the part about using the game launcher to set order. What NOESM said below.

I'd like to use NMM to manage my mods and change load order through game launcher, but every time i open NMM it changes it to the load order i dont want and i have to manually click 1000x in the launcher to lower a few mods... any fix?

Don't use official game launcher for modifying the load order, it will screw it. use NMM to modify load order.

I have to ask, why do you use the official game launcher anyway when NMM already has this feature? I'm confused.

EDIT: Oh, and you can drag-and-drop esps in NMM in order to modify the load order. No need to click on arrows 1000 times.

because i have "sounds of skyrim" installed (tried via NMM and manually) and NMM is not letting me move them down since it thinks they are .esms.. and these mods needs to be put under other weather mods to work properly apparently.. Edited by mattbison

They have their esm flag ticked in their headers. They load before esps no matter what, even if Game Launcher shows them in the bottom of the load order, that won't make a difference. Best to report this to the mod author, or use SkyEdit or TESVSnip to untick their esm flags if you really sure that they have to load after any weather mod and if you know what you are doing.

Well, I think his point is that since SOS is an .esm file, it will only load with the other .esm files, at the top, so that any .esp file would overwrite it.

It is an .esm now. Didn't used to be.

What specific weather mods are you concerned about? It seems like you could use Wrye Bash to .esmify them, if you needed to, in order to move them up with the other .esms. I only have one other weather mod, Immersive Thunder, and I don't have problems with SOS 4th in my load order, but it probably all depends on the mods.

You might still be able to get an .esp version from the mod author; however, as I recall the mod was turned into an .esm to solve some problems resulting in CTDs and other issues. So the apparent fix could result in the return of other old problems.
