PinetreeRoad
I'm looking for help with in-game stuttering, it always stutters when loading terrain ect.i5-2500K @ 4.3GHzR6970 Lightning @ 940/1375 CCC 12.48GB RAM @1600MHzSeagate Barracuda 7500RPMWin 7 64 So i technically should not have an issue playing this game what so ever, but i do.The stuttering does not show up in my framerates, but i can see it clearly. I have had the problem before i installed any mods, ect. The 4GB launcher did help a bit, but didn't fix the problem. Any help is appreciated
luthienanarion
This game will not run as smoothly as other games, not matter how powerful your hardware is. Loading from disc is the most obvious cause of the game stuttering, and lowering your view distances can help. Put all your view distance sliders at about halfway, since you can't see anything beyond that anyway. Microstuttering is caused by the game engine updating at an unusual refresh rate that does not sync with your monitor's refresh rate. You can try getting NVSE and NVSR to alleviate microstutter at the cost of overall frame rate.
PinetreeRoad
I figured it out, I did some more reading and found the "New Vegas Stutter Remover" http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/34832 It actually freakin works!

Hmm, I might try messing with the audio cache size on my own install. I'm 99% certain that the rare crashes I experience (REALLY rare) are caused by the sound engine, and so is a large part of the stuttering.

It certainly does, I'm stutter free since installing that, less crashes while loading new cells too.
Cyberlazy
Yea. I think putting more BSA's into the essential cache list helps a lot too, Athough it might end up flushing more stuff out too.

dubiousintent
Please note the date of the previous post, and see the Nexus "Terms of Service" about not resurrecting old threads. The primary reason is that the original thread participants are seldom still around, and it is unlikely that you have exactly the same setup. Details matter. That said, please see the 'Issue: Lag or "micro stutters" even with "New Vegas Stutter Remover" installed' entry in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide. If that doesn't resolve your problem, start your own thread and please provide ALL the information requested in the wiki "How to ask for help" article. Don't forget to identify things that do not appear in the "load order", such as NVSE and it's related plugins, texture replacements (specifically their larger image sizes: 1024x1024, etc.), and "post-processors" like ENB or SweetFX. -Dubious-
