XebecsDemise2012
Hi everyone I'm making a huge mod, or at least I'm starting with it ... I have built a nice new worldspace, filled a city with buildings, added clutter and some NPC's.I have 2 problems ... 1. Some stuff keeps dropping through the floor ... I put a broom on the floor and use havoc settle to get it on the floor and rest against the wall, but it falls through the floor ! It only seems to happen on non-flattened vertices, but I could be wrong about that. 2. I added an NPC to an interior room somewhere, it's a Dwemer Centurion ... I've followed to Bethesda tutorials on making a quest with an NPC, so I added quest stages and dialogue etc. However when I run the plugin and try talking to the centurion, I don't get any dialogue options. I have created other NPCs (vendors) and they work just fine .. Is there a problem with the Centurion, or did I forget something ? Thanks in advance for any help
Galacticat42
1. Make sure that either A) the floor you're putting the broom on has a collision mesh or B) the broom you're using can handle collision mesh data. 2. Add a silent audio track for the centurion's dialogue so the game won't freak out.
Perraine
Any question/answer/statement in an NPC's options, MUST have an associated audio file, otherwise as Budz42 says, the game will 'freak out' and skip/ignore the option (even if it's just 1.5secs of silence), if the NPC doesn't have any 'dialogue' audio files by default (as Is probably is the case with the centurion, at least, I've never head one speak before) then that may be why there is no command/speech options
XebecsDemise2012
Thanks for the replies. However I don't think these are the solutions ... :( 1. I am using standard items on normal, terraformed ground. Should that not ALWAYS work ? Also, a lot of times when I hit 'F' to drop an item onto the nearest surface, it often gets put under ground ... Does not happen everywhere, only where the ground is a little uneven ... I'll record a video of it happening in the CK and post it here. 2. I followed the bethesda tutorial step-by-step, which includes recording blank audio tracks for each of the dialogue entries. So I'm pretty sure I did that correctly. I think I should give up on using the Centurion and see if I can get it working with some other actor ....
gasti89
Wich voice type have you set for the centurion?
XebecsDemise2012
I'm at work now, so I can't look it up, but it's something like dweCenturionVoice ... Basically the default one that comes with the Centurion.
Perraine
I'd check ALL of your audio files and make sure they have a dependency, you can usually tell if a new "thing" in the CK you've created is or isn't being used by this, If it shows 0, then their is a break in the chain somewhere, I've had this happen a time or two when creating custom items in the CK and NPC's are probably WAY more complex
XebecsDemise2012
While I'm very proficient with computers in general, I'm only just starting to work with the CK. How can I check the dependencies of audio files ? I googled but didn't get far... Thanks again
