Fallout 4 White Screen at Character Creation

Like the title says, my Fallout 4 has a major frame rate problem once the short little opening video finishes playing and the character creation part appears. Everything seems to load fine until this point in the game. It's also worth mentioning that the first time I started the game, this problem didn't exist. However, it happens every time now. The specs for the laptop that I'm playing it on are Intel i5-8250U, NVIDIA GeForce MX150 2GB VRAM, 8 GB Memory. I've been running it on the lowest settings with windowed mode enabled. No matter what I do, it takes 30 minutes just to get to edit the face (if it even reaches that without crashing). I've reset my laptop,reinstalled Fallout 4, and verified that the game files were valid on Steam. Not sure what could be causing the problem, but hopefully someone can lead me in the right direction.
