Quakecon and the future of Fallout 4 etc

I know the CC is doing well on PS4 those guys are eating it up because of Sonys mod restrictions. Xbox probably does fairly well but the crowd is mixed, Xbox has mods similar to PC. I couldnât say how well itâs doing on PC.

I am also certain that Beth is not regretting adding the CC.

Some of the content is worth getting if you like settlement building, although a lot of it is severely over priced. For example the new Art Deco player home costs $7.00 where Automatron which has so much more content was about $9.00 (if I remember correctly)

I purchased a few items early on but wonât buy any more! Beth started using some (what I would call) shady sales tactics.

For example (I would never buy skins myself)

At first the sold individual, armor, weapon skins for 100 credits about $1.00, they have since removed the individual skins and started selling them in packs (still about 100 points each) so a back of 8 skins costs 800 points $8.00.

The kicker is that if you had already purchased some of the skins in the pack or had gotten ant in one of their free giveaways you donât get credited and still have to pay for it again.

They are trying to double dip in my opinion!

They are also doing these âLimited Timeâ skins and packs (only available for a few days). They did a 4th of July patriotic PA skin pack to try to drum up excitement and create an impulse buying frenzy! Which makes no sense in a single player game.

Lastly most of the CC content that I have or have seen need mods to fix issues in them or created by them.

The prices have also been going up, the original workshop packs were 300-400 credits now some of the new ones are 600 and up.

This is what I see in Fallout I do not have Skyrim.

Edit: also from my understanding the modders get paid like a freelancer, I canât say what the scale is, I donât know but they get a check when the idea is approved. Another when a benchmark is made and a final one when finished.

Unless things have changed there are no royalties paid.

Again this is only my understanding and how the system was explained to me. I did apply but wasnât accepted.
