New shout ideas needed

As the topic says, I'm in search of new shout ideas. So I'm turning to the public to hear your ideas to put into my mod if I like them. I already have a topic under the same name in the request subforum, but unfortunately not everyone looks there.

 

RULES:

• As always, do not spam or troll or flame.
  
• Please give a full description of your idea - I will refuse to even look at your post if you give only a few words. i.e. I WANTZ BOMB SHOUT
  
• Please use as proper grammar as you can - if you're not fluent in English then try your best. Again I'll refuse to look at any posts similar to the example above.
  
• Be creative, I don't want any posts of things that have already been done.
  

 

Shout ideas already in my mod:

• Dragon Transformation Shout
  
• Elemental Weakness: Your thu'um commands the elements to expose your victim, taking away their ability to resist your attacks.
  
• Resurrection: Your thu'um reaches beyond death to bring a friend back from Sovngarde.
  
• Consume Essence: You shout at the ethereal forces around your target, causing them to siphon your victim's essence into your being.
  
• Mastering Souls: Your voice enslaves the dead, bringing them back from an eternal slumber.
  
• Devour Soul: Your shout attempts to rip your victim's soul from their body. Should the shout fail, their souls will return with a vengeance.
  
• Darkness of the Deep: Creates an impenetrable darkness.
  
• Arcanic Wall: You shout at the very essence of Atherius, calling upon the arcane forces to summon a barrier.
  
• Bulwark Fury: Your shout imbues your shield with the power of force, causing any blocked melee attacks to force the attacker back.
  
• Silence of Wisdom: Your shout causes your foes to lose their ability to think, causing them to temporarily forget how to cast magick.
  
• Sonic Howl: Your thu'um shatters the hearing of anyone in your path.

Well, I don't know how hard it would be to implement this, but I have always wanted a shout to use for teleportation in battle. Not any major distance, just enough for a little breathing room in desperate situations. For instance, if you find yourself surrounded and close to death, you could use the shout to instantly teleport you out of the middle of the battle. I know this would have come in very handy for my mage many times. Like I said, not a major distance, just maybe 20 to 50 feet in game would be enough. That would be a really nice addition to the arsenal of non-warrior characters especially. Just something I always thought would be very useful not to mention pretty cool. ;)

Well as nice as it sounds, I don't find it all that feasible of a shout. First we have the mod that adds a blink spell (forget which one) along with ethereal form and whirlwind sprint. In addition to this, there will be the shout perks that will be added in my mod allowing you to use the other two shouts one after the other with low shout cooldown times. So in a way it will be in there, just not the way you described it. :thumbsup:

Yeah, I thought it would be very difficult to actually implement correctly in the game but it's just one of those little things I have always wanted for Skyrim so I thought I would throw that out there. Nice to know you will have something like this in your mod anyway. Hopefully, more people will step up with some ideas for you. If I come up with any others I will let you know. :thumbsup:

We do need a shock variant of the elemental shouts!

 

I"m actually surprised no one's come up with one yet.

 

Another concern I have though is the actual sounds for the shouts. I would think that to really truly have a bunch of new shouts and have them fit seamlessly in the game, you'd need to revoice all of the vanilla shouts as well as the new ones. Either that, or make the new shouts not use any words (Which would be weird).

how bout a shout that picks up jagged rocks in the area and hurls them at the direction of the shout. knocking enemies down, causing bleeding damage, as well as kicking up dirt to hinder sight. another one could be one that forces who ever is hit by it(with some execptions) to become your follower. a side effect to add balance is that they do not regernate health and their max hp is halved or something along those lines. what do you all think?

Well; if I may add another suggestion that I believe could be useful and very lore friendly...kind of....

 

For some time I've played a wood elf. Wood elf are said to be one with nature; they blend well in forests and are known to be agile and have very sharp senses. They also have a bond with animals and nature itself; they're magical creatures that protect the forested areas all throughout Skyrim. So I was thinking; and I've asked a few modders already if they could make this happen... could you create a shout that turns you into a flying hawk with the ability to use the "Detect Life/Aura Whisper" ability?

 

I know that hawks in Skyrim and moving static objects; but that can be easily changed by using the model and animation to create a new race, right? :unsure:

 

So yeah; this shout would be useful not only to wood elves, but to those who like to play an archer type of character (among other archetypes of characters).

Before going into battle this shout would allow you to scout the area before you go into action. The Aura Whisper ability would let you identify possible threats and so on.... and if you could also add a function that lets you make a hawk noise that would be awesome.

 

 

I hope you give it some thought; I believe is a shout worth making :) :thumbsup:

I'm not exactly sure what to make of it. If anything it sounds like two or three spells mashed together which is OP in every way I look at it. You have the mind control element, the blinding element and the damage element. What can be done however, which you just gave me an idea - but more on that later - is to make a shout that makes a dust storm.

That is a rather nice idea there, BUT I think it would suit a spell or a power more than a shout. Shouts are suppose to be what the dragons use daily - you don't see dragons turning into hawks now do you? :confused:

Nevertheless, it is possible but it would require a new model of a hawk then somehow fit it onto the dragon rig. I CAN, however, make a nature shout for example summoning spriggans.

Make it a power then, please :ohdear:. Hehehe :turned:; it would be a nice additions. You could also add powers instead of just shouts....could you not? :unsure:.

 

Summoning a pack of ethereal shadow wolves sounds nice too. Bears are just to brute and big. I like the spriggans shout idea :D.

 

Hmmm; another idea... maybe you'll like it. How about a shout so powerful that when used it'll turn nearby foes into stone for 30 seconds, allowing you to scape or hide. And when hit, the stone bodies would shatter and turn into dust (similar to what happens with shock spells, but nicer and grayer).

 

Another one.... a simple yet powerful shout (I think there's already a spell like this, but making it a shout is much better). Could you add a shout that sends off force waves that throw your enemies backward a couple of feet in a very forceful manner. Think of the Hulk Attack; when he smashes the ground everyone goes flying. :teehee:

 

I'll try to think up some more ideas and see what I can come up with.... I hope you make a flying hawk transofrmation spell :ohdear:
