theforshizzalist
I've been having this problem for over a month, I have been looking all over the internet for solutions and I cannot find any. I have tried disabling all of my mods, fresh install, and the sound fix but nothing is working. What happens is that whenever I try to go anywhere in the open world the game will CTD after having traveled a small distance. Usually the game will last for about 2, maybe 3 minutes then crash. If I keep trying to travel the same direction the game will always crash in the exact same spot. If I fast travel to that spot then it will load fine but will crash again after having traveled the same distance. It's making me very mad because I really don't like to fast travel and I want to be able to explore the world, that's kind of the point of the game. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Here are my specs: i7 @ 3.03GHz8GB RAM2 GTX 470s (SLI)
Georgiegril
I don't know that I can help you, but I'm wondering if you are using Crossfire? I have read that can cause problems.Have you checked the Geforce Guide for Skyrim, they have 20 pages of adjustments for your card, and also specific settings for specific cards. Might help, if you haven't tried it.NVidiaThey also came up with new drivers a couple weeks ago, they work better for me and I haven't seen any complaint threads about them like there were on the "Skyrim" driver update back in the spring. The only other thing I can think of is that there is maybe another program running in the background on your computer that is being given priority, (like messaging, cloud sync, whatever) and you computer shuts down skyrim to give the other program the RAM it wants? No, Crossfire is for ATI cards, SLI is for Nvidia. I am using SLI though and my drivers are up to date. I will try those tweaks though. Thanks! Eyeball0limbs0
I used to have the same problem like u until I found out that my skyrim.ini file had a weird section about map something. can't remember. Somebody told me that was due to mods that modify world map. Uninstall every map mod. Delete that map section in the ini then it should be fixed. I suggest u make a backup ini file beforehand in case it make things even worse.
