crashing freezing annoying

Hi,

So I'm having some problems with New Vagas. Freezing after fast travel, random freezing , random crashing, infinite loading screens.

I maxed out the setting with 4k res.

looked into it a little so i now have FOMM, nvse launcher ,anti crash, anti stutter and 4GB patch , still issues , thought it might be the hi res so i tried at 1080 , same issues.

Also I tried uGridsToLoad=7 and uExterior Cell Buffer=64 also fTreeLoadDistance=400000 and fBlockLoadDistanceLow=500000 because the pop in , view distance, level of detail is just atrocious. However, I reset the ini files when issues started.

Maybe there are some setting i should tone down a little , i don't know , any pointers would be much appreciated.

I'd love to get this game running stable, it has a really good feel to it.

Have you got the stutter remover installed? that's known to cause crashes on Windows 10, if so open the Stutter remover ini with notepad, locate bHookLightCriticalSelection=1 and change it to bHookLightCriticalSelection=0.

That is actually a list of several problems, not all related to a single cause. Please read the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article, especially under the "Common Problems" section. Also suggest you read the wiki "Display resolution versus Image Size" article. 4K images are not necessarily better.

Thanks for the tips guys , I made the changes to the NVSR ini , I also made some changes suggested in the troubleshooting guide regarding the use of more than two cores. I've been playing for about four hours running NVAC, NVSR and the 4GB patch with no freezing, crashing or infinite loading screens.

I think I might try again at 3840x2160, which is the native resolution of my 40" monitor, I does look pretty sweet. If that goes well I might bump up the ugrids, tree load distance and block load distance again because the pop in is just horrible. Eventually I'd like to have the dusty distance mod and project nevada running. I think that's all I will need for a rather decent experience.
