Can't I select multiple things at once with TESsnip?

I'm trying to build the most severely modded game I can for TTW, both NV and fallout 3 included. Unfortunately, that means I have a LOT of plugins to convert if I want to even get past the title screen. So far I've tried using both ctrl and shift to select all of the (GRUP)s at once, but I can only select one at a time. What gives? I'd rather this process not take an eternity, is there any way to fix or get around this?

Your best chance to get a solution is to take this issue to the "TTW Support forum".

What I do know they are going to tell you is to NOT use TESSnip. It does not handle the format changes in either FO3 or FNV correctly. Use xEdit/FNVEdit/TES5Edit instead. The manual is called "FNVEdit Training Manual", but works for all games.

A word about "record selection" in xEdit. You may find you have a number of desired "selection blocks" of records of various types. Unlike standard Windows editors, xEdit provides a mechanism allowing you to select multiple "selection blocks" and chain them together using the standard Windows <Shift+Click> and <Ctrl+Click> selection commands. This means once some selection of records has been made, you can add an additional group of records by:

  • <Ctrl+Click> on the first record of the next range, (the <Ctrl> key adds that record to the existing selections), then
  • <Ctrl+Shift+Click> on the last record of that new range to extend and "chain" the "block" selection to those previously selected, or
  • use <Ctrl+Click> to add each new individual record.

If you do not use the <Ctrl> key to combine the new selection with those previous ones, you are starting a new, separate selection which discards all those previous selections.

Okay, cool. I'm not really familiar with it but I'm willing to try whatever I can, I just need a different method of porting these mods. I'll probably check out the forums after I get my load order data for it, I remember that they may want to see that. The only reason I came here and not there was because I really don't want to have to make patches for all of the mods, but even if it is worst case scenario, at least there's likely a definitive way to make it work at the end of the day. Thanks.
