It wasn't doing this yesterday..I decided I didn't want the "Open cities" mod..and now I can't save or it will close instantly, no error message just close. I can't wait or enter a new place, and I think it's because it auto-saves. Can somebody help me?

I think it might be related to Steam? Whenever the game tried to autosave every now and then, it would just crash to the desktop just as you are saying.

Maybe its because of the SteamCloud function?

I don't know, but it's really getting bothersome! :wallbash:

I just remembered that New Vegas used to do this to me too after 30 minute intervals

I had a 512MB ATI x1900 at the time and a 3.2Ghz dual core processor....now I have a 1GB ATI HD 6770 and a 3.3Ghz Triple Core with 4GB RAM and it does the same thing...even with Skyrim. I blame Steam, seeing as all my other games outside it actually work 100%!!

Geez..I didn't have this problem yesterday, at all. Speaking of which, I can't run SKSE for some reason, it says I need to update to the newest skyrim or something..when I have the latest patch. >.> There's got to be a better way for Bethesda to run their computer games.

No way...that happens to me as well!

Are you using a wireless adaptor to connect to your router by any chance? Because I have a slow connection from it, whenever I open the Skyrim Launcher it will attempt to download my subscribed mods and not even download the first one.

Bethesda should have just did what any average company would have did and just released it on a disc...without any Steam involvement.

WOW! Yes! I am connected by a wireless adapter, and the same thing happens to me when I open my Skyrim launcher..it's funny because Oblivion was next to perfect when it came to mods!

Sorry its late! I think I've figured it out, or part of it!

Okay, so the first thing I did was check the speed of the router and the adaptor. The router is a legacy router hence the slow speeds to connect to steam (54kps if that!) and the incompatability it had with the old router.

The next thing I did was what I always did with Oblivion, which was to install Gamebooster. Once it was installed and ran I loaded Skyrim up, the software switched modes and then the save crashes have come to a stop so far since I last posted.

This seems to have worked, somehow, someway....but hasn't fixed re-downloading the subsribed mods.

All I can think of is some sort of network service was interfering with Steam or maybe a network reliant file that has something to do with the Cloud..

Anyway, try to see if it works for yourself dude. And the SKSE thing might not be working because the current patch is a beta patch, I think
