Meoix
Super Quick Version-Crashes on load. When I try a new game all I see is the logo and fog. (oddly the console for commands still works) Attempted Fixes-Restarting game and computerDeactivating select (mostly likely problem) modsDeactivating ALL modsEnsuring everything (video cards, sound cards, game, steam) is up to date.removing my SkyrimPref.ini and skyrim.ini filesRemoving all my saves. Long version-Hello everyone, I'm having two strange issues with my skyrim out of nowhere. I played last night just fine w/o issues. Today after work, I go to continue my first vampire and BAM, a wild crash appeared! So in short, ALL of my save games crash instantly when I try to load them.To See If I could even play I tried starting a new game and all I saw was the logo. I restate that I have not changed a thing about my computer or my game since I played last night. "Here we go again" I said in my head. As a veteran Elder Scrolls Player, I'm used to occasionally having pull my hair out on frustratingly random issues. Now reinstalling is, in my opinion, annoying and takes a while and plus to get my mods working again, doubly so, and has not always worked for issues like this.I've performed all the usual fixes, tried googling the issue and saw that most people removed SkyrimPrefs.ini, Skyrim.ini, and their saves to solve the issue.I tried this to no avail, still same issues. Now my computer is malware free, updated, and More then capable of running Skyrim (I've had it since the day it came out, a day prior actually as have my Wiley ways) Also, it's the steam (non-pirated version) just throwing that put there as an extra tidbit. So has anyone experienced similar issues or know of a handy dandy fix? I was just starting to get back into the game again and enjoy the Vampire Overhaul mod and Imps More Complex needs. Georgiegril
Please don't be offended that I am stating what may be obvious but did you run BOSS, and did you visit the mod and discussion page of the last mod you downloaded before the crash to see if others are experienceing the same thing, and if there are any fixes? Meoix
Lol, I'm not offended, but yes, I forgot to mention I ran BOSS. I run it everytime I install a mod. I deactivated the last mod I installed anyway to try but was merely a very basic armor mod which I really doubt can do this kind of damage. Prior to that last week was the Vampire Overhaul which was the last big thing, I tried deactivating that too. Alas, still causing problems. Rigalian
I am having the same problem, I tried all the same fixes and still nothing. I even reloaded my OS and it still happens. I happened to have the task manager open one time it crashed when it reached 750k ram. I loaded it a couple times it crashed at the some point every time. Meoix
Mine doesn't crash like that, in fact my skyrim has gone upwards of 3gb of ram perfectly fine due to having the 4gb ram patch thingy. Mine crashes instantly upon loading, and will just wait at the new game screen with the skyrim logo and fog moving in the background.
Meoix
Sorry for the double post, I went ahead and did a system restore (worked for a similar issue with oblivion) and voila it worked. But still, what exactly went wrong anyway... as long as it works I suppose...
