How do I setup a mod from bethesda.com to be handled by NMM

I have searched and have been unable to find how to get NMM to manage a number of addons which I have only been able to access from inside Fallout 4. They are relatively small addons, from what I can tell lists of pointers to existing game objects, each addon consisting of a single .esp file in /Fallout 4/DATA / but I don't know how/if i can setup NMM to handle them so I can avoid using Fallout 4's carp mod activation interface to enable and disable them. The mods to which I am referring are the USO (Unlocked Settlement Objects) mods, which I have compressed into .7z copies of the .esp files, 1 each per corresponding mod/addon and, for now, have sitting on my desktop but would much prefer to have handled in the same place I handle the rest of my mods, in NMM. If anyone can advise me on how to do this I would be very grateful.

you don't

it's automatic and you have no control over it

as far as I know

you MAY be able to using Wrye Bash for fallout 4 - https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/20032

you should also read my guide since it is obvious you are new to modding - https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3886575-fallout-4-beginners-guide/

OP: since you've already made 7z files of the mods in question, just use the Install from File option in NMM and select the 7z file when prompted.

Been a while since I've used NMM but I think Install from file was on option under the green "plus" icon.

I'd also recommend setting up a mod archive folder and keeping your mod zip files in one place.

Also if the .esp files are already in the Data folder they should be visible if you click the Plugins tab. Then you can manually activate them there by clicking the checkbox next to the .esp name.

Thank you for your suggestions, i'll read over them once the dilation from my optometrist visit has worn off. You're halfway correct about me being new to modding, I am new to modding Skyrim and Fallout but I began modding in general back when Bioware released NWN, the first NWN which wasn't an AoL hosted MUD, for which I created the first anatomically correct male lower torso, which was pretty much a waist to hip replacement model.

Thank you, I will see if it is seeing them, I haven't gotten to check yet due ti dilated eyes but it looks like I will have to reinstall everything, as installing mods via a saved profile doesn't work, doesn't even install the first mod on the list. I guess hopes for auto-magically swapping mod sets with the profile was setting my sights too high.

Using Wrye you can do that with a SAVE FILE, but i've never heard of doing that with a profile in NMM unless it was your own

To access the saves in Wrye, click the tab up top that says saves then click on a save, on the right side of the screen it will tell you every mod included in that save

It was my own NMM profile saved via the profile dropdown in the upper left, next to the launch button/dropdown, just a reminder that I'm running an OS which, during its early evolution, the CEO was so nearsighted he essentially said nobody would ever need more than 640K RAM. I'll read about/setup Wrye, thanks for the advise.

What I do with any files off the Nexus site is download them to my download folder and then with the green plus icon direct the NMM add mod function to the file I want to install from my download folder. NMM will add it and then you need to activate it. Then run LOOT to put all of your mods in a reasonable load order.

If you are using NMM there is no need to seek out a Wrye Bash solution.

Ok first of all, you need to read a post in it's entirety next time

read post #7 slowly and you will see that the problem is not NMM by itself

You have no clue what you are talking about and you are giving out bad information.

Depending on each INDIVIDUAL load order, how many mods they are using that have scripts, leveled lists, and so on, and how many of those mods are requesting the wrong load order for the vanilla files, is what determines if someone needs Wrye Bash or not.

I do not care if doing it your way has never caused problems in your game, YOU are NOT the ORIGINAL POSTER, YOU are NOT ME. YOU are NOT JOE HARRIS down the street.

EVERY single person i know in the Discord chat will tell you that you need WRYE and a bashed patch from it, INCLUDING MOD AUTHORS.

PLEASE stop giving out bad advice.

Gromulos, you really come on a bit too strong. Maybe reading your own guides have made you enthusiastic about Wrye Bash, but I doubt you can speak for all users of Discord. I too have used bashed patches in the past, but it has not affected my reading comprehension or the ability to be polite.
