stebbinsd
I received an automatic update the other day updating Skyrim SE to v1.5.50. SKSE isn't compatible with that version just yet, my SkyUI mod doesn't work without SKSE, and if I simply play without SkyUI, my attempts to quicksave result in a CTD and my attempts to hard save result in the game freezing indefinitely. So right now, it's either revert back to v1.5.39, or don't play Skyrim at all. How exactly do I do the former? SuspenseSmith
I have the same question. I don't like games that update on me without telling me, especially modded ones. Other games have a "BETA" tab on their steam properties window where you can choose an older build to revert to. Skyrim doesn't have this. Probably security purposes to push those Creation Club things. Ugh.
SuspenseSmith
So just check this post since it's the same problem. Also rename your SkyrimSELauncher.exe to something like SkyrimSELauncherOriginal.exe and then rename or copy and rename skse64_loader.exe to SkyrimSELauncher.exe. That way steam will use SKSE as the "default" game instead of the vanilla launcher. I initially did this so I could use the Steam Controller and big picture mode. I forgot to do it with my latest build. It also helps with these auto updates. Also also have "only update when launch" option check. Also also also, just play offline mode. Saves you this headache. Another thing I forgot to do.https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/6947946-trouble-with-skes64/ "Another creation club update Be sure to go to your Steam Skyrim update settings and set automatic updates to only update when you launch it (from Steam, always launch from SKSE shortcut to prevent game update) Instructions to get back to previous update to continue being able to use current SKSE Press Windows + R Input: steam://nav/console In the console: download_depot 489830 489833 1298692161422189837 Check https://steamdb.info...9833/manifests/ for the latest manifest ID! Jyotai
Necro-posts... not so big a deal. But v.1.5.39? Curious - given that that is the version that is apparantly given out on pirate software sites: A sticky on the page of one of the mods I use: 30 November 2018, 1:53PMThere has been a rash of people demanding we provide copies of USSEP for outdated versions of the game, specifically 1.5.39. Please stop asking us to do this. We do not support outdated copies of the game under any circumstances and we NEVER have. Update your games and you'll eliminate the problem. Now then. 3 things:1. 1.5.39 is the version most commonly used by pirates. You raise our suspicions whenever this specific version is being asked for.2. Required means REQUIRED. End of story.3. Take your anti-CC and anti-Bethesda hatemongering back to the 76 forums and leave us out of it.Any further posts on this subject will result in immediate deletion and loss of access to the comments AND the download. stebbinsd
But v.1.5.39? Curious - given that that is the version that is apparantly given out on pirate software sites:I don't know if that's "usually" a pirated version of the game, but my copy of Skyrim SE is NOT pirated! I downloaded this game off steam back when it was still free for existing PC users of 2011 Skyrim. I can even provide screenshots of steam to prove it. I am quite frankly offended that you would accuse me of pirating without direct f*#@ing evidence.
Jyotai
I am quite frankly offended that you would accuse me of pirating without direct f***ing evidence. Get offended all you want. We have more than a year of updates since pirate-version. I can understand wanting to be 1 version behind right now while we wait on SKSE to update, but I have a lot of trouble understanding wantint to stay on the priate-version. If this is all just a misunderstanding since the original post is rather old, this steam command will get you the version that was out before today: just do that so you get the old version backOpen Run: WIN+RRun Steam Console: steam://nav/consoleIn the Steam Console: download_depot 489830 489833 7531846925655934196When the download has finished it will display a file location: \Steam\steamapps\content\app_489830\depot_489833Replace the launcher found in \depot_48933 to your Skyrim SE directory. - THAT VERSION will run with anything using the current SKSE version: v2.0.12- which is basically any up to date mod that relies on SKSE. And one of the only reasons to care about your SkyrimSE.exe version is to be able to use SKSE. Edited March 14, 2019 by Jyotai
