  1. I'm hesitant to hit the 'upload' button on the Data directory for my mods. That's a 65.2gb upload. But I find about 2/3rds of my mods show up as plugin unknown when I right click them with the vortex extension because they come from other sites (or for about 1-2mbs of it are my own custom patches). Were I to do that upload, with those plugins from other sources start to show when even other people right click them in their own vortex library? In other words is there value in people uploading their data files in order to create a public repository of how "all mods out there" impact the game? Or is this 'upload' only for my own personal benefit?
  2. Since the last update to Vortexm it's started up everytime with a note that it cannot find my downloads folder. I manually show it where that folder is, but then on the next load... the same popup. I have the downloads on my 'D:' drive, and the mods on my 'C:' drive... - I'm on a laptop with a 250gb hard-drive so I try to push as many things as I can to an external drive... Vortex insists on a copy of the mods in the downloads, mods directory AND game... tripling disk size... I'd partially solved that in past by putting the downloads on D:... Could this be... - A need to reinstall Vortex? - A corrupted ini in Vortex from the update? - A new limit that the downloads have to be on the same drive? - Something I should look elsewhere for a solution to? Mods: C:\Users\[username]\Documents\My Games\Vortex\skyrimse\Mods - 38.1gb Downloads: D:\My Games\Vortex\skyrimse\downloads - 2.89gb Game: C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data - 66.3gb Vortex: C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex - 307mb
  3. When I put a head exported out of Skyrim SE Racemenu into NifMerge's left column, and the nif from control-f4 exported out of CK into the right colum... NifMerge does nothing. Check the box at the bottom... still appears tp have no data loaded into it. I've tried with nifmerge from here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/40494/?tab=files 1.0.3, 1.0.4, 1.0.6 - same no result in all 3. Is there something else needed for SE users?
  4. Sorry to necro an old thread but: "purge in vortex" What's the purge option? Or can I just open windows file explorer and delete the 80-some gb's of vortex_backup files that have near filled my 250gb drive...
  5. In my current playthrough I went for a Bosmer (wood elf). I gave her a height of 0.92 is racemenu using the body scales. - Great, she's properly short, maybe even needs to be a little shorter to be lore-correct when I go into ESO and look at my Bosmer there... But then I log out, and log back in, and she's towering over humans again as if she was an Altmer (high elf). Open up racemenu, it says height it 0.92... Only thing of note: My Bosmer was made by using my Altmer's preset, then changing race to wood elf, setting height to 0.92, and tweaking features a bit... - Is some data carrying over despite repeated attempts to tweak her to be properly be the chiuwawaha of the elf world? Or is this some known bug, or some unique bug?
  6. Somewhat yes. This issue has followed me through: AFT, EFF, and now Nethwork's Follower thingy. - That the issue has re-appeared over and over has yes, made me suspect it's caused by a script issue in some other mod that perhaps has been consistent. I do have Flower Girls, RDO, and some others like that. I've not read of any of the users of those mods having this issue. Perhaps I have a conflict unique to my particular mix of mods. Presently on SKSE 2.0.12 and the previous version of SkyrimSE, and haven't updated mods since March 13th. Load order something like: So I have some custom npc mods - they add new NPCs and have packages, but no scripting. The latest occurrence of this was in a follower with some custom healing spells, Lily. Previously it his an Orc archer in my own mod, Jyotai_NPCs.esp - that became my motive for holding back on putting that mod out. The only commonality between those two followers is having gear given using an outfit that was their own outfit and not something like "bandit medium etc". - Current iteration of my Orc gave her no outfit, I just put items in her inventory... which means she shows up in game 'nude' until something attacks her or she's recruited... and I changed her ID - I copied the NPC to a new record and deleted the original NPC... since doing those two things she hasn't become a "..." follower again. But before that she was pretty consistent about breaking after using for about 10-levels or so. It has hit other followers from time to time, but that Orc used to be a consistent theme - and now that it's hit a different follower, not made by me... my theories on the cause are little more shaky... (there are several in there I could and should get rid of as I'm not using them, like SLPleasure and some of the creature stuff that I got because I thought it was needed for sexLab but it isn't. Also most of the follower NPCs... I've generally started favoring my own designs, so next playthrough I may strip them all out - it's only the Orc having been a source of issues that has held me back - and kept me grabbing follower mods to see if, as has just happened, the problem wasn't just my own Orc.) If no one else has ever heard of this bug... then I may have to consider that the flaw my Orc had... might also be a flaw in the Lily mod I downloaded as well, and not a more general issue out there...
  7. I've got a follower in my current game than when interacted with only responds with "..." and no dialogue opens up. This has happened to me in past, and I had assumed it was a bug with older follower mods, but now it's happened again and I'm on completely different mods. In the past I have only found 2 fixes for it: 1. Go all the way back to a save before it happened and dismiss that follower - so I at least have an NPC in the world somewhere that I can talk to... but that follower is never going to be viable as it will eventually occur again. 2. Go into creation kit and edit that follower and change it's ID, such that it's actually a wholly different NPC in my save files - as this issue can carry over even into completely new games, it seems once I have found a follower that does this, that follower will do again even in future games. There has got to be a better way. Things I have tried and failed with: - using console to resetai - using console to disable the follower and to place a new copy of that NPC next to me. - killing and resurrecting the follower - either with console commands or combat. - switching follower mods - switching follower mods and then beginning a new game from the start. Has anyone ever seen this, and found a way past it?
  8. I recall having this error a lot back when I first got Skyrim. For me the solution, I think - was cleaning my core esm files with SSEEdit (the "mods" that come from Bethesda). I think it also had a bit to do with getting things like the 'Unofficial Skyrim Patch", "Cutting Room Floor", and the "Engine Fixes" mod. But it's been a while, and it looks like you have these. Do you have engine fixes, it won't show in a load order: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/17230?tab=files - because it's about DLLs and such. Yeah here's a post I made about a year ago: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/6789767-keeps-crashing-cant-figure-out-why/ - Also mentioning engine fixes. I distinctly remember that I would get CTDs somewhere between Falkreath and Helgen or Pinewatch house. But it looks like I may have had most of my discussions about it before I found the Nexus website - as my post history on it here doesn't seem to have the stages where I was getting really confused... that'd be nice to see again, because there's probably a vital clue in them if anything more than engine fixes is needed.
  9. Right now there is some catastophric bug somewhere in between Racemenu and XP32. With random theories about which one. Possibly even with the changenote on SKSE: All of this was SKSE changes over the last few hours: So step off an updates until we see at least somebody get all 3 of those to work together. Since XP32 and Racemenu are both rarely updated mods, the wait could be months... Racemenu got an update last night... but that's unusual for it. XP32 - it gets even less attention from it's developer.
  10. The one on the Chinese site works. Personally I found my FPS dropped to around 1 when I used it. But if you have the hardware for it, you can use google translate to figure out how to download it.
  11. Get offended all you want. We have more than a year of updates since pirate-version. I can understand wanting to be 1 version behind right now while we wait on SKSE to update, but I have a lot of trouble understanding wantint to stay on the priate-version. If this is all just a misunderstanding since the original post is rather old, this steam command will get you the version that was out before today: - THAT VERSION will run with anything using the current SKSE version: v2.0.12 - which is basically any up to date mod that relies on SKSE. And one of the only reasons to care about your SkyrimSE.exe version is to be able to use SKSE.
  12. It varies. And then mods that use it vary even more. I suggest using the commands they're talking about here to get back to yesterday's version and watch your updates page closely for the next month or two: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/7476261-does-anyone-have-a-stem-download-depot-code-for-the-previous-version/ (and if you use ECE or Racemenu... the next 6-months or so...)
  13. That's actually exactly why I have cleaned some mods. Nothing in my current list, but it's happened in the past. My only issues with Vortex at the moment are two fold: auto-sort - is this on by default or was it my mistake to turn it on. This sorts mods, but not in the same order as LOOT. That mean that everytime I cycled between the two my mods got shuffled. I have a couple of mods that very much depended on keeping themselves in the same place in the load order as they were in when you first started that playthrough... and they were acting very weird on me until I realized this. If this is a default on option, I'd change it to default 'off', or... 'off' if the person links Loot into the list of apps you can connect to Vortex. I've yet to track down the cause of this one, I have theories but not certainty. It seems every so often when I installed and enable a new mod, the esp is NOT enabled. Sometimes it's connected to whether or not I ran LOOT right after adding it (as in disabled until I run LOOT), but I think this is not always the case. Whatever is behind this... if we can track it down, it'd be nice to get fixed. Otherwise Vortex in it's current state is actually pretty good.
  14. Download the external file onto your computer through normal download methods - some link on it's page that says 'download' for example. In Vortex, when in the 'Mods' tab, you're looking for a button that is a '+' sign on the upper left that says install from file. - click that and navigate to where you saved the download of the mod you want.
  15. Necro-posts... not so big a deal. But v.1.5.39? Curious - given that that is the version that is apparantly given out on pirate software sites: A sticky on the page of one of the mods I use:
