LoveOmlet
I have been working with editing existing NPCs and adding new ones to my skyrim game. I use CBBEv3 female body mod with bodyslide function. I am trying to make the majority of female NPCs more "modest" than a few of the followers and more prominent characters. I am wondering if there is a way to edit every female NPC to have a weight of 0. This way I can go through to specific NPCs that I want to be unique and change them individually. It is quite a task to go through every single NPC and change them all one at a time.
tg08096
If it were possible, which it's probably not, it would most likely be more complicated, frustrating, and time consuming than going through each one. If youre going for modest, go for UNP. 30 second fix to your problem.

The way this is achieved is having the difference between slim and heavy be more exaggerated while making the mass populous default at slim. There has to be a way to do it. There is a mod called NPC Editor. I used this to edit individual NPCs. It doesn't seem like it would be impossible to open multiple NPCs at the same time with some kind of a "power tool". I'm sure it could cause all kinds of problems if you change the wrong setting, but weight has no bearing on the game except for cosmetic value. I wish I knew how to do it, but I'm sure it isn't impossible. Edited June 7, 2012 by LoveOmlet
steve40
I can't remember if the bodyweight is set on the Race form or on the Actor form, but if it is set on the Race form, then setting it to zero on the Race form would carry over to all Actors that inherit that Race, provided that they don't individually override the setting. I think it would affect both males and females though. Edited June 7, 2012 by steve40

I think it would affect both males and females though.I get a feeling that the individual NPC weight values overwrite the race values. Otherwise everyone would already be the same weight. But that is an interesting point. I know its probably more of pain to figure it out than it is to just spend 1 night changing the NPCs 1 at a time but I am curious and also think it would make it a lot easier for others to do the same.It also looks like Race form has options for male and female. Ok, so race weight influences what min and max weight are for that race, so the slider of 0-100 for the NPC is a percentage of the race weight. So a Wood Elf at maximum weight will always be smaller than a Nord at maximum weight. So using the race weight can make it so Nords are small and skinny and Wood Elves are big and heavy...but it does not change the variance in the NPC weight values. jet4571
Its in the actor and not the race. It would take a while and be tedious but the way to do it is go through each of the NPC's in the CK you want set at 0 and set them at 0. But any mod that changes the same NPC thats loaded after will use that one, and you will have neck seam gap issues unless you start a fresh game since that info is stored in the save. I guess my next question would be if it is possible to make a mod similar to the NPC Editor that could have a function to change all female or male weights simultaneously. Not that I am very experienced with modding, but I guess I am hoping someone who is experienced might notice this thread and maybe have some input. If it is possible, how difficult would it be to do it and has anyone thought of this before? Oh and I do realize that there is a good chance that in order to have it specify between male and female may require having a master list of all of the npcs and then divide them by gender. There doesn't seem to be any useful sorting tools for actors besides alphabetical order in the creation kit. I hope that by some chance I am mistaken about the sorting. Even just alternate sorting in the creation kit would make this SOOO much easier. Like sorting actors by traits. An example would be "Show all unique NPCs." or "Show all child NPCs" or the one I am looking for "Show all female NPCs". jet4571
I am very familiar with the NPC editor by Foretrenty. Ive used it since v50 last year. I dont use it anymore because it cant do what i need done. What you are asking for would take more time and effort to create than just biting the bullet and doing all the adjustments in the CK and it only takes a few seconds to change each record. asking someone to make a utility to do that for you, that would take as long or longer and require a whole lot more work... just so you dont have to change a couple hundred records? Sorry I doubt you will find someone to do that. *edit, you can sort the NPC's by gender or race in the CK. start where the gender ends and the other begins and work 8in the opposite direction. Anyway, I don't expect someone to make it for me. I was curious about whether it was a question that had been asked before or if my idea is unique to my own needs and if there was some way to simplify the process. I appreciate everyone's input.
