I've found some follower mod, like Sylvanas etc. I really like their character's appearance and armors/weapons, but those mod are followers. Is that possible to make those followers mod become a playable race character in the game? How should I do to change those mods?

The mods I found was esp files.

Thank you very much for your help guys!

I know what you mean. Racemenu has an optional download that lets you duplicate a face, and then you can save it as a preset by opening the racemenu. However, in my experience it is never a perfect duplicate. For example, if the character in question has unique facial markings that won't be copied, only the structure, hairstyle, etc. Even the skin color doesn't copy and you have to adjust it yourself (last time I used it anyway.) I would certainly like to know if this is possible as well.

So how can I duplicate the follower mod files into the racemenu?

Its not quite duplicating the files. If you have the racemenu mod, there is an optional side mod (on the same page under files) that gives you a spell.

1. Use the console command to equip the spell (the instructions specifically say the left hand for some reason). I.E. "equip spell [spell id] left.

2. Find the follower (or any npc) and cast the spell. This will automatically copy their face build, as if you made it from scratch in the race menu (therefor textures wholly unique to the follower are not copied)

3. Use the console command "racemenu", go to presets, then click save preset. (I recommend adjusting the skin tone before saving the preset. Skin tone did not copy for me but I matched it pretty close to the follower I copied and then saved it.)

4. Start a new game and load that preset when creating your character.

Its not a perfect method. As I said, any qualities unique to the follower than you could not otherwise give your character do not get copied. It will give you the closest approximation.

Ideally, you might be able to put the followers mesh/texture files (not sure which one you need if not both) into the preset data directly and it should be a perfect copy, but I haven't had much success with that (for varying reasons).

Out of curiosity, which follower are you attempting to duplicate?

Sylvanas, the link is this: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/70306

And thank you so much for your explanation!

And I also found another Sylvanas follower mod made by this author, it's an old version in 2014 and it's an esp file. I prefer the character's appearance of that version, is esp file also work for this method? Thank you!

I don't really know if esp files work when dropping directly into the data folder. But if you have the plugin the copy should be able to mimic anything you could do with race menu to exact proportions. For example, let's say you downloaded the follower Raven the Titan by Fachry (which I used to test this method). It gave me the hair, facial structure, eye color, etc. It did not give me the red gem in the forhead, the skin tone, or the height. I set the skin tone myself and saved the preset, I then adjusted the height using console commands. I could not get the red gem. Still don't know how.

(I then deleted the preset and the mod because it was mostly for testing purposes). As far as I can tell, as long as you can reasonably make the character is race menu you can duplicate with the spell to a large degree.

Looking at the follower you've chosen, I assume there is also a mod to play as that race. Assuming you had that mod, you should be able to get a perfect duplicate with the spell as I don't see any follower specific markings. Maybe the eyes but the "eyes of aber" mod offer a lot of options so you should be able to cover for that.

Oh, I've got another questions. Can this method work with SSE? Thank you!
