motherhenna
hello, I've been trying to find out how to download skse for my mod organizer, but no matter how many times I follow the instructions, I can't seem to do it right. I feel like at this point I need personalized step-by-step instructions. I have a g7 dell laptop, and whenever I try to download SKSE, it tells me that it can't find the TESV.exe file for skyrim special edition. Even when I copy and paste what should be the correct file location, it tells me it's the wrong folder. I'm getting so frustrated! What am I doing wrong? I have mod manager and mod organizer downloaded and they work just fine. I've even tried just downloading the 7archive and unzipping the file myself, but my computer says it needs "an app" to open up the file, and I can't figure out which "app" can open it. Please help! I'm new to PCs, and I literally have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
Shadeybladey
There are usually written installation instructions included with SKSE. I do not use Skyrim SE and I don't use Mod managers of any kind. But there are a few things we need to remember: 1) SKSE is not a Mod, it's a script extender which is used by some Mods2) SKSE should very probably not be installed with a mod manager (because it's not a mod)3) SKSE should not be installed in DATA, where mods are installed (because it's not a mod)4) If you download the archive, you will need Winzip or Winrar to unpack the archive and install it.5) You MUST use the correct version of SKSE for the game edition & version you have installed http://skse.silverlock.org/ Current SE build 2.0.7 (runtime 1.5.39): 7z archive You could also try having a look at these: https://healingmuffin.com/2018/03/22/skyrim-how-to-install-skse-in-4-easy-steps/ Good Luck :)
