i love the laser rcw but i hate the sight, there is a metal part that blocks your view when aiming. i have no idea how to do this my self, if someone wants to help me i will appreciate it .in the picture you can see which part i am talking about.

from what i can see the weapon already have a front sight so i dont mind that one. the rear sight serve no purpose in game just to block your view. i know in real life you need the rear sight to align your shots but in game does nothing at all.i just want someone with knowledge to cut the upper half rear sight or remove it completely.

I'm working with a 2 button mouse (so simulated middle button and no scroll wheel), so I'm kind of handicapped here and was hesitant to fire up blender......but I took out the sight for you. Test it and make sure blender didn't drop any nodes. Unrar it, rename it to laserrcw.nif and make sure it's in it's directory ("Fallout New Vegas\Data\meshes\weapons\2handautomatic").

yeah i wish it was that simple. i downloaded blender and the rest of the tools to open new vegas files but when i import the nif in blender it has a huge block in the middle of it plus i have no idea what to do in there.....

There is a Blender Reference Manual https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/ available to follow while editing .nif files. Make sure you are using Blender 2.49 for New Vegas/FO3.

A quick tip, when you open Blender, press the "a" key twice. This will highlight the block, light source and the camera. Then press "m" (move) a grid will open with 20 squares. Just left click on one of the squares (not the first one, that is the one you are in) and left click "OK" This will clear the page you are using. From there you can import the .nif on which you will work.

You can also use the "m" move command to move parts of the .nif that are in your way and move them back again.

I do a lot of work modifying bodies and armor and I don't need the headmeat, body meat, meatcap body or meatcap limbs in the way.

devinpatterson for start thank you you very much the sight is perfect but it seems as the weapon now has a very low resolution texture. i compared your nif with mine in nifscope and yours is completely different it missing a lot of stuff.

Yeah, nifskope has export scripts that change a nif when it is saved. I personally didn't alter anything except the mesh. If you want you can compare the branches in nfiskop to see what is different, but I'd avoid that in general and simply play test it. Is the texture still an issue (I received your first unedited post)?
