dfac364
Is this seriously seen as acceptable? ive never heard of anyone donating for a mod until earlier today
ishmaeltheforsaken
Donations are not "paying for mods."
jet4571
donations are acceptable, asking for donations for further mod work is not. If you see anyone request or ask for donations for more mod work then report them. donations are voluntary and are not to be asked for aside from the default donations box message. dfac364
oh okay so its more of an incentive to get a modder to pick up an idea as opposed to a commercialization?
jet4571
It's more of a way for users to thank the author for what work he or she did. It is not intended to be used to pay an author to do something you suggest because that could be abused. If you see an author suggesting that if he recieves a donation he will add something else or even hinting at it you should hit the report button because behavior like that can only harm the community. Korodic
pretty much. If you really love the mod and want to encourage them a little bit or reward them you can donate whatever you feel you should. Though, a donation is voluntary, and is not required to download any mods. Mod authors cannot give incentives to get donations either. Such as "if you give me $ I'll write your name down in a donation's book as a thank you..."
Rabbit1251
This was started at the Steam Workshop. Dark One went to Bethesda and asked "If they can do it why can't we?". Bethesda said okey you can and that's why Dark One implemented the donation system on the Nexus. And as everyone has said it's not to be confused with paying for mods.
