Slaiv
Nice. This is turning out to be a great developement. Maybe it'll change into an Iredior Conspiracy. :P But, I do have one question: Does this require Tribunal or Bloodmoon? Because I'm gonna go pick up Pandora Tomorrow this weekend, and I'll be broke, so I can't get either of them.
vandorssen
It requires both... Mostly due to certain models that are used. Speaking of Pandora Tomorrow, my younger brother is getting that too this weekend. He's really in to the Tom Clancy games, and I think he has all the ones currently available. I'm not much on them, as I am very selective aout what I chose to play.
Slaiv
Crap. I'm screwed. OT for a bit, but what is the best option: Buying each expansion seperately, or buying the GOTY Edition? I ask this because I don't know if the GOTY edition has seperate discs for the expansions, though I would think it does....
hyperk1
GOTY is one disk and in the beginning when you start a new game i think it asked you if u wanna turn the exspansions on or not, my friends got it.
wesaynothin
I also think goty is like $30, whereas buying them all seperatley is like $70. Very nice Vandorssen! I'm trying to run Morrowind un-modded now, but I do believe your may just tricklie it's way onto my computer. What levels will the quests be designed for? strangeways
I'm hoping to make the quests for all levels, depending on how many EPBs I can pin down for the quests. Some of them may end up to be gaint puzzles though I am still thinking of throwing in something really ubber silly. OT: EPBs are evil plot bunnies, my name for the ideas that like to lurk into my mind at weird times, like at work.
vandorssen
I have posted the 9th pre-release of the Hauptstadt mod. This one finishes the general architecture and general layout. The upper two floors are not yet fully furnished, and there are still many details to be added, but it is now usable. For those who downloaded the previous pre-releases, I have corrected the keyboard texture error for the harpsichord. I will now be more or less handing off the project to Strangeways to add the NPCs and work out the quests. I am also toying with the idea of adding more to the lv. 2 crypt and what not. But that will depend on what exactly the quests we work out will involve.
wesaynothin
Do you guys have a release date for the full version planned, or even estimated?
vandorssen
Let me start off by saying that, if this works how I want, this castle will be the figurative tip of the iceberg. Right now, although you cannot actually see it unless you look at the mod in the CS, there is a gateway to a whole other world in the depths beneath the castle. How exactly this will work, I do not yet know. The other world has technology and civilizations comparable to that of early and mid-twentieth century Earth. To do it right, as such, would require a larger effort than Stangeways and myself can provide. While not (for all purposes) a total conversion, as I have a storyline compatible with the world presented in Morrowind, the idea is to somehow link the two entirely separate worlds. The two worlds would have different architectures, different sensibilities, different races, and so on. It is difficult to put it into words in such a way as I do not sound like a rambling madman. This castle is the bridge linking them. Without proper modeling support, the larger project is dead in the water; I am attempting to gain my “sea-legs” in modeling using an “educational” edition of a 3D modeling program (Houdini) and I hope that after that, I can rationalize purchasing an extremely expensive software suite (3Ds Max) to use for what is only (and likely ever will be) a hobby. Could the “full” mod be completed without the modeling support I need? With a little imagination, perhaps. If you can use your imagination to picture a bunch of Imperial Keeps stacked up, one on top of another, representing a 1920’s style skyscraper, then we probably could. I have posted a request for modeling help in the recruitment forum, but there it has received a lukewarm response (well, none actually). I do not necessarily take that as no one having any interest, but instead that they have more pressing maters to attend to. And, I would not want someone, say from the MEMod, or any others, diverting priority attention from that to Strangeways' and my own little flight of fancy. Besides, I do think I am ready to do the whole thing yet. As far as release date go, the castle itself is more or less complete right now. If someone is simply looking for a nice place to put things, or is keen on J.S. Bach, then it is ready now, save for a few minor details But, if that someone is looking for a meaningful extension of the game, that will have to wait. I just setup Strangeways with the CS (not to mention the necessary video card to even play the game), and it will take time to learn that. After that, I have little doubt that Strangeways will make quick work of creating NPCs and we will work together on a story that will fit the current state of how the mod works, and will hopefully add to the overall enjoyment of the game. Then, perhaps after that, we will have a capable modeler and we can go on with the “big” mod.
vandorssen
Putting my own idea (as far as skyscrapers go) in to practical use, here is a screen shot of a skyscraper I did come up with using imperial architecture. It is only a rough draft, but I think the concept is sound. However, that would still leave the need for a more modern interior, which leaves me still where I started.
