Questions about 'Modern Firearms' mod

I recently downloaded the 2.5 version of Modern Firearms, although I typically avoid mods without an NMM installer. Now my game crashes after about 15 min of playing, but that's not my question. I mainly installed the mod because someone said it adds modern military BDUs, tactical vests, and helmets. I'm tempted to uninstall the mod and make my game stable again, but before I do, I have a few questions for anyone that uses 'Modern Firearms':

 

  • Are the uniforms buildable at the chemistry station and/or ArmorSmith workbenches? I didn't see a category in either spot.
  • Are the vests like combat armor, taking up the chest spot and fitting over outfits like vault suits, BoS uniforms, etc.?
  • Is there a definitive list anywhere of what the mod adds? I'd particularly like to see screenshots, as the official page I downloaded it from only had a handful.

There is a special workbench, sorry I cannot recall its name, but it would be where the weapons workbench is. You can purchase things from this bench with pre-war money. I'm using Armorsmith Extended so that may affect things, but I'm wearing a Nuka World Jacket under my Dragonskin Tactical Vest currently (there is clipping, but only on me not on NPCs its weird but maybe its SHB). You won't be able to buy weapons, those are within leveled lists, but when you cash in a MF weapon you get prewar money and the ability to now purchase this weapon. The weapon can only be upgraded with MF components, but I like them way better than other mods (you can switch from scope to reflex sight, add/remove bipods/silencers, and change the fire rate of only MF weapons sadly).

 

Also there's a website? I had to finagle with bethnet to get it to work properly with MO lol, also there are a few patchs to combine MF with Weaponsmith Extended and Weapons of Fate if you use those two mods.

Wasn't an actual website, just a reddit post from the author/team lead guy. Supposedly the latest (and last) update to it, which might be the same thing as the one on Bethesda.Net. I downloaded the ZIP file and then told NMM to load an external mod file, which seems to have worked. I already had "Weaponsmith Extended", so I also got the "Modern Weaponry" patch that makes the two work together. Even so, it messed up a few of my WSE weapons and now I can't play for more than 15 min without it crashing... so I'm not entirely sure if I did it all correctly. Long story short, if your game is stable with the Bethesda.Net version, stick with that one.

 

Anyway - you answered my questions, so thank you very much! I'll try to get it stable, because I really want those uniforms & vests. :happy:

Well if its any help, I put all the WE files at the bottom of my load order (above start me up, that always stays at the bottom for me), and I put Modern Firearms under Extended Weapon Mods (which is in slot 22). So for me the modern firearms sometimes show up on a playthrough and sometimes I'll have to head towards Diamond City to even some of those weapons (and I'm even using an unleveled wasteland mod hah)

 

Ok I could not add a screenshot I had, it was way too big, but I added it here so hopefully you can see it. If not it should be in my nexus profile somewhere (its the only picture).
